Settling In

I got my Pixel 10pro XL on Friday and I think, even though I did a restore from my Pixel 8 pro, I'm settled in and have now completed the transition (5 days later). This is not a knock on Android but just a statement on the complexity of what we use our devices for these days.

I have multiple 2 Factor Authentication apps that must be restored, several banking apps, apps to pay utilities, and many others that require attention to finish setting up.

After all this, I hope I can remain happy with this 10 for several years to come.

Personally, I'm up and running within 15-30 minutes on a new device. I use a cross-platform password manager for passwords and two-factor codes. So logging into apps is as simple as auto-fill from the password manager when required. All I have to do is reauthorize the password manager app once on my new device.

So with the combination of cloud storage, password manager, restoring apps, home screen settings from old devices, I'm generally up and running in no time, and setting up a new device is simple and breezy.

The same applies to my iOS devices.
