Several connectivity issues on 5.1.1 upgrade with Nexus 5+T-Mobile

I am seeing a lot of issues with my Nexus 5 after the 5.1.1 update. I see that my cellular network works only if I am connected to a Wi-Fi network which is strange and never happened before the update. Another primary issue is I cannot have 2 apps running simultaneously. It always crashes the first app that was open when I try to access a second app. The UI becomes very sluggish.

Is there any work around? I am using T-Mobile.

Could be some clutter in the system following the upgrade. Try a cache partition clear from recovery mode. There's always the factory reset option, but you may not need that.
