SGT2-7 bricked ? HELP !

While surfing normally this morning (not rooting or anything advanced), all of a sudden, the screen froze, no response from anything on screen nor from the long press of the restart-shutdown button. Left it as is for a few hours. Picked it up with a black screen (like if it was off). The power button has no response; perhaps the battery was empty. Put it on the charge and no battery charging animation !

Is it Dead ?

How could it be ? Anyone else has seen this behaviour ? ... and hopefuly has a remedy ?

Running ICS 4.0.4 (have refrained from upgrading to JB OTA) and I was surfing on Bacon Reader when the freeze occured.

SOLVED ! it was only upon trying many times to hook up to a PC via USB that it came to life again.
