Yes however there is that rumor stating that Samsung started most of their design process on the S8 and Note 8 with the assumption that their fingerprint scanner was going to be under the display and made a last-minute change about 5 to 10 months ago based on the unavailability of that tech for this generation of devices. That's not a good reason to put it in a terrible place but that could explain that they already had so much of the component placement engineered that it was time to just find a place to stash it.LG G6 can still manage wireless charging and a decently-placed fingerprint sensor. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I think it will be really telling to see where they put it on the S9 because that decision was made very early in the design process of the S9.
