Few things. You can change individual icons by long pressing them, swiping up when the pop-up comes and then selecting the file you want to use.

As for quick cuts that will be more useful if and when developers add the feature to their app. The launcher doesn't automatically do it unfortunately.

When I try changing the icon with an image in say, the download folder, it won't load up. It does work when I select a different icon from any of my icon packs. Maybe I need to resize my image or something... Nova didn't mind, I could throw anything at it and it would work wonderfully.

I guess we will see how the quick cuts thing plays out after more apps are configured to use that feature. But I think it wont prove to be much different from Apple's 3d touch feature, which is mostly a party-trick. I mostly mentioned this as nova and emui do not support this feature, but action launcher does... it's neat, but I don't really feel like it's much of a time saver.

It wasn't that I didn't like Action Launcher, it was just too buggy on my phone for me to keep using it. It had repeated instances where I'd go to set the wallpaper of my desktop and it would have problems doing that. Also, when I'd swipe down on my screen to pull down the notification menu, it would fail to work properly. So I gave up on it and went back to Nova.

And I wasn't referring to the App Drawer on the left side of the screen in Action Launcher when I was talking about the "Swiftly Switch" app. Swiftly Switch is pretty much the same thing as the "Quickpage" in Action Launcher, which is what I thought you were referring to when you mentioned liking "the hideaway widget dashboard thingy". Sorry if I misunderstood you. :)

So far I haven't had a lot of problems. Swipe down for the notification works as long as I don't drag on a widget. But I prefer using the FPS to do this anyway.

Yes I think it's called quickpage, the "widget thingy" on the ride side of the phone. I looked at swiftly switch and I thought it worked more like the app drawer. Didn't know that existed, I would have downloaded that ages ago. It's pretty neat.

Switched it up a bit (again) . Using a new black and green emui theme I found on xda. The live wallpaper was called z wave, I think. Still rocking action launcher and materialistik icons. 1475711204314.jpg

I just can't stop tinkering. Swapped some icons, wallpaper, and found a customizable Google search bar widget to replace the standard one from action launcher. Looks great with the black and green theme & keyboard. I've been changing things up every couple days but I might finally have a keeper :)

I'm not really understanding the general hate for emui. Sure, it needed some tinkering out of the box. But with the built in theme engine, it has to be one of the easiest versions of Android to tweak. Huawei deserves more credit here, it looks a little like an ios knockoff out of the box, but it is very flexible.

A lot of people just want to use it out of the box and are expecting a more standard Android layout.

It is the floating dock. turn it on in settings under smart assistant. shortcut to some functions in setting.

I think I'm good, everything seems to work here for me.

Sweet and simple. I just can't live without the app drawer. I've never gotten used to folders either. Probably should. My side desktops aren't well organized. What Is the button at the right side of your nav bar?

Thank you! I have hid all of the apps I don't use on a regular basis.

The button brings down the notification/shortcut shade. Much easier for me to use this one handed with this, lol.

That's a nice touch.... Not sure why more Android manufacturers don't make it easier to customize the buttons
