Sharkk Bluetooth Keyboard

I had not seen many other comments on this here, and figured I would post. I just picked up the Sharkk BT Keyboard through Amazon, when I got my NP 12.2

I love it, and it is very light. Other than not having a hard case like the microsoft one, to protect the keys, it is perfect. I personally did not want to spend the money Logitech or Samsung are asking for their keyboards. I also wanted something a little more traditional, and that I could leave at home when I did not want to carry it. And I did not want it to just make it like a laptop. Many times I might put the tablet on a table or laying on the sofa, and the lone keyboard works better for me.

I don't find it to have much if any lag, and it is rechargable, so no batteries to worry about. Time will tell how long the charge lasts. But at 35 bucks, its a deal.

I didn't even mention it has backlights. I have not used that feature yet, but will see how well they work this week.

It looks like a great product from the reviews and at a great price too.

Have you two experienced the cons mentioned below by this Amazon reviewer? They refer to using it with an iPad so I was curious if these were true for Android (Note Pro or Note 4 - I have both).

The specific issues are:
The Ugly:
For many, these two will be deal breakers.

First - I have to connect each time. I have to hit the connect button on the keyboard AND go into settings and connect on the iPad. None of my other Bluetooth devices require this. (BTW - I don't mean PAIR - just connect). The most I have to do to another device is hit the connect button on it but not on the iPad.

Second - this is the worst for me. You can be typing along and the iPad will go into lock mode. Let's say you have lock mode set to a 15 minute interval. If you do nothing with the iPad it will automatically lock (some of us call that sleep mode). But with the Sharkk, if you have been typing that entire time, it will still go into lock mode (assuming you have not tapped the screen to reset the time). I have never experienced this on my Apple wireless keyboard. It could merely be a coincidence but I doubt it.

Its been a while since I have been on, and just saw that you were looking for answers to the issues.

I do not have an issue with connecting. I turn both the keyboard off and tablet off when I am done for the night. And actually they had been off for more than a week, and then today, I turned both on and though I had to make a few just ghost typing (typing knowing nothing would transmit) to get it going, it conected and worked great. I have to do that anytime though. I assume that is what it takes to get the bluetooth transmitting. Not a big issue or deal breaker by anymeans.

As far as I know issue two can happen to pretty much any tablet, especially if you are using a off brand keyboard. I am pretty sure if you buy the $120 keyboard and case for the Note 12.2 it won't shut off, same with if you buy the apple one for an iPad. But that is not enough to make up the difference in cost. Its not hard to just tap on the screen ever now and then, or turn off the time out feature, if you are going to be typing a long time.
