I really love my OP5 and have never paid so much upfront for a phone using Vodafone SIM card only. I now see that the phone is unavailable and no reason being given by oneplus it seems to me a little short sighted. This phone even by is high standards is not cheap and similarly the 3T I had before was a lot of money. However they are brilliant value. If there are no phones available why don't oneplus simply state the reason ie a new model coming out or simply that they've run out of stock when people spend this sort of money transparency is essential. As things stand the present if I was looking for a OP5 and was simply told you it was out of stock I would go for one of the new emerging companies to see how it compares. Oneplus will lose customers through their own arrogance unless they are careful.

This is really upsetting, as I was planning to grab either the OnePlus 5 (outright) or LG G6 (through my carrier) next year. Looks like, if this continues, it may be the G6.

I bet they are planning on releasing a new phone soon. I love one plus phones but come on at least be open why its out of stock funny part on the one plus community not even their moderators will be honest why its going out of stock. but hopefully in the future they will be more open about it. They finally had another meet and greet i think it was in uk with actual customer with the president of one plus. So lets hope for more transparent relationship

And, it would be nice if they weren't vacuuming up your personal information constantly. Sure, they have backtracked and allowed people to opt out in the future, but only after being caught. This alone would make me very wary of doing business with them.

It'd be nice if all companies would stop vacuuming up our information. We should hold them all to a higher standard, including Oneplus.

Your info is totally wrong though, they're going to make the opt out more user facing, which is a very good thing and should have been the case from the start. But it's always been there, and it's always been the first thing I turn off.

From that article; "users can stop sending usage data by opening the Settings app, tapping Advanced, tapping Join user experience program and changing the setting there." It's currently opt out, they're apparently making it opt in.

There is still the device info, which, like usage data, pretty much everyone collects.

And I say that not to excuse Oneplus, because I find this behaviour pretty inexcusable, but to attempt to stop people from thinking "oh, good job I don't have a Oneplus phone!" Or if they fix it people thinking "oh, Oneplus fixed that thing that only affects Oneplus users, everyone is safe!", Meanwhile their Samsung or whatever is collecting the exact same data.

Pei noted that the OxygenOS devices will "no longer be collecting telephone numbers, MAC Addresses and WiFi information."

Do you think other phone manufacturers collect this information? And, why do they need it?

The OP5 has been out of stock for a few weeks now so OP have not been selling any phones for a while.

Surely they need to either get the 5T announced and out there or start selling the OP5 again? Makes sense to sell nothing.

Hopefully they don't just give up on the OnePlus 5... That was a phone I really wanted!

So I'm making a phone pro-con list, with 6 of my must-have features... and so far, the OP 5 is the only phone that actually has 6/6! Hopefully it gets restocked soon... Does anyone have any info?

What were your criteria?

The info is that if the 5T is legit, the 5 will most likely never be restocked. Your options are basically buy third party or buy something else.

I think at this point, if you're waiting for the 5 to restock you may as well be waiting for Godot.

That is so unfortunate... But alas, if that is how the cookie crumbles, then crumble it must.

Here was my list:

- front-facing fingerprint scanner
- 3000 mAh or more
- camera specs on par with my Honor 8; or better
- LED notification light
- 5.0-5.5" display
- price point

You are pretty much in your list talking about the HTC u11
