Shipping notification....Who's first?

Just incredible. I'm amazed at the way people are acting over all of this.

What's so wrong about that? I clearly needed the phone, Sprint has failed me and I need compensation for it. They screwed up by taking a gamble and now they have to pay the price. It was urgent that I needed the phone.

Sprint has taken down it's online chat function. Their statement says: "Please be aware that during periods of high chat volume, the "Chat" option may not be available, even during normal business hours."

I wonder if they think THIS is enough of a reason for them to put out a statement.

Does this affect all devices? People seem to be getting conflicting information, some say ones received before this blockage will be allowed to be shipped, others are saying every devices is impounded and not a single phone will ship out until this is resolved.

While Sprint may not have a hand in resolution, they at least have a hand in how they are going to handle this situation.

If it's so urgent that you can't wait a few more days, possibly a week - then you shouldn't have preordered a phone to begin with. You should have walked into a store and picked up any phone that day, since it's so urgent you know.

Yup, and guns kill people and pencils misspell words....

My rotations for my hospital work start on the 24th, I knew the phone was going to be launched on the 18th, so I thought I was safe.

Why would I stick for a crappier Galaxy Nexus if I have to keep it for 2 years? Unfortunately I cannot just afford to buy phones out right like some other people, I am just a medical student with big loans on my hands. I have to make a smart and sensible purchase, which I thought would be the evo.

Did not mean to offend any one.

What's Sprint's return/exchange policy? You could gamble again and get a phone now and swap it for an EVO 4G LTE if it becomes available in time.

They have a 14 day return policy, BUT you still get charged restocking fee and activation unless you return it within 3 days of original purchase.

I've called Escalations, and they are not cancelling any of the preorders. They said whenever they ship, just refuse the package. One of the people I spoke with that it should take between 7-21 days before the phone ships, lol.

When did you preorder the phone?

Since Sprint is actually allowing cancellations when they normally don't makes me think this delay will be lengthy.

I agree.

Personally, I think the EVO LTE is dead in the water...at least as a flagship phone for Sprint.

Further, I don't think it is out of the question that Sprint may eventually take action against HTC for monetary damages.

Couldn't have been too urgent if you were doing a pre-order for an unreleased phone. There are so many options for a phone now.

How is the EVO dead in the water? The vast majority of the general public does not know about the EVO LTE, let alone about the shipment being held up.

What I think he means is, If this is a drawn out battle and takes a month or two Sprint will most likely have to shift its attention away from HTC and start backing another company as their flagship.

Sprint needs a flagship LTE phone for their network. They will now most likely turn to the Galaxy S III. From a business point it makes tons of sense.

The EVO LTE will be released when its released but Sprint will be putting all their attention on the S III to make as much money as possible.

He said the "EVO is dead in the water", not HTC. Sprint will stick with HTC. This is just a compliance order.

I just have to wonder if this Pushes the SIII forward a bit by Sami trying to hone in on HTCs whoas . I know I was on the fence with the 2 and Preordered the 4GLTE as I have had 0 issues with my OC Evo . If this thing is Delayed until the SIII launch I might just Jump ship. If I wasn't a Loyal ( Really the Unlimited Data factor) Sprint I would be thinking of even jumping Ship to another Carrier.

If I was Sami I would try real Hard to go forward as fast as I could .

What options are you referring to exactly? I know I am just switching to Sprint and I personally like HTC phones. My last 4 phones with T-Mobile were HTC phones and I honestly see nothing that comes close at all to this EVO that was clearly communicated that we would receive on or before the 18th. I see no other "worthy" options for a new Sprint phone, the closest possibly being the Epic Touch 4G right now but what if you are in a LTE launch area, I'll pass on the Galaxy Nexus and the Viper...
