Shipping notification....Who's first?

Just remember the articles stated some of the devices had been cleared. We are all expecting the Evo is cleared however it could be the One X. If both were cleared would they not say they were all cleared? It is possible that the One X is cleared especially if they have already been selling this device for the last couple of weeks. I think we should all wait until we get more info before we start expecting an Evo on our doorstep.

unfortunately this is true.

if both phones have the exact same OS from HTC then why would they let just the One X go through?

By the way. What ever happened to the guys on here that posted the ups tracking info that there evolution was shipped?
These are people who get notifications directly from UPS when a shipping label is created with their names and addresses as the recipients. And as you're probably already aware, just because a shipping label is created, doesn't mean that a product is shipped. So no one has gotten beyond the stage of having shipping labels created yet.

because its only common sense, they are not going to send the phones out ahead of the official launch, as you know the official launch was pushed back, therefore your preordered phone will not go out until Sprint gives the ok, which will be the day before the official launch at the earliest
Uh, wrong. Sprint very specifically mentioned that they will ship the pre-orders out prior to the official launch. This is the exact phrase they used (emphasis added):

"If you pre-ordered an HTC EVO 4G LTE, well send you an email the second it ships and do our best to get it to you on or before the national launch."

So, if their plan is to get the phones in the hands of the people who pre-ordered the phone on or before the national launch (whenever that is), they have to ship it out ahead of the official launch. That's how shipping works.

Let's say, for argument's sake, that the official launch date is 5/25. In order to "get it to me" on 5/25, they would have to ship it on 5/24 at the latest, or else I'm not getting it until after the national launch date. In order to get it to me before 5/25, they'd have to ship on 5/23 at the latest, because otherwise I'm just getting it on the same day as the launch date (if not later), and since Sprint specifically mentioned the word "before," they're obviously aiming to ship it earlier, rather than later.

So your logic fails. Goodbye.

Only caveat to what you are saying - Sprint said they would try to have the preorders out early - they didn't guarantee it.

lol did you even read what I posted? or did you just fly off the handle like a spoiled little brat because you read something you didnt like? you just posted exactly what I said, the earliest the preorder people will get their phones is the day before, Ive posted that multiple times, and even you posted that..........

From the article Mrshsdes posted - "We've heard some positive news from HTC's U.S. distributors. Consumer electronics chain Best Buy Co. is going to sell the EVO LTE on May 23, while mobile provider Sprint Nextel Corp. will sell the model on May 25," he told CNA by telephone."

Hopefully Sprint preorders will arrive sooner, but it's nice to see a date in print. @InsideSprintNow should have more news today and you better believe I have his tweets set to text notification.

As an in-store Best Buy pre-order holder, I am really hoping for Wednesday. It's kinda the day I've had my heart set on all weekend. if it gets pushed back to Friday I could deal with it, but any further and I'm going to have to reconsider this purchase.

Why do you believe we will only get it 1 day before? Why not 2 or 3 days early? If Sprint has the national launch on Friday and the E4LTE's have already cleared customs, or will today, it seems entirely possible to me that shipments to folks that pre-ordered would begin without delay. I don't see a reason why they would wait.

I think until we get a solid verification that the shipments have gone out to the masses there is no need for the back and forth bickering.

Thanks all :)

Hey I posted this over on insidesprintnow, but thought I would share with you guys too,,

Ok hate to burst the bubble believe me I'm like the rest of you but Slashgear has a post today about this and it seems to answer a question that I have been asking for a week now. The article says that some devices have cleared customs but did not specify which ones. What I have been asking is why the HTC ONE S has not had any issues getting to T-Mobile. Maybe because the ONE S and the original shipments of the One X have been the devices that they are talking about. Think about it. You can't say as a company

"Each imported HTC model must be reviewed by Customs and will be released once Customs officials have completed the inspection. Some models have gone through inspection and been released to our carriers customers. We don’t have the status of each specific device model at this time, but we are working closely with Customs. We remain confident that this issue will be resolved soon"

How can you say in the same breath that you don't have the status of each device, but say you are working closely with customs? In fact HTC likely has someone onsite there reporting every bit of this drama. I think what happened and of course I'm speculating like everyone else is that HTC gambled that because they were able to get the ONE S to T-Mobile that they could get a free pass with the EVO LTE and the One X. It might also explain why some were reporting a June release date likely in anticipation of some issues they may have . Because The ONE S went and at least the initial shipments of the ONE X were allowed they were under the impression they could make the date. If we get shipping info today it would be great but I’m thinking we still may be waiting for a bit.

On another note who knows what the customs review consists of? All the phones run the same software. So do they have to go thru each phone or each model of phone? I know what would make sense but we are talking the Gov here. Also is it every shipment that comes in that needs to be inspected and in that case every model of every shipment. It could be a min
