Well thats the problem, if I violate the terms and conditions of my black tie protection...........that would screw me.

And post the links :) if you could, I'd appreciate it! Nvm.......I found them.

Ok, I have been debating and debating and debating on rooting (yes, I am sure there are a billion threads on it, but this one is most active).

Now, I know the possibility is teeny tiny itty bitty of it hurting the phone, but that is too much of a concern to me.

Now I have Best Buys Black Tie for it, and I have been reading over the T&C for it. And I quote; "unauthorized modification" will not be covered.

So let me ask everyone here, is this unauthorized modification? What if I want to remove the root and the rom completely? I know you can "unroot" and there is a thread on it (although i've lost it). But does it remove it totally and 100%?

Please, shed your wisdom upon me as I do not want to shell out $600 for a new phone.
Applying the unroot zip will get your phone to out of the box status. They will never know.

funny: i ran into a guy at work today that had never heard of a.c., and had a stock droid,he was sooo proud showing it off to all the ppl, well i jus happen to walk in to the break room, and i was like, let me see that thing. runnin 2.0.1 stock is a sad state, he looked at my droid in utter amazment, asked me if it was like a new phone or something with my live wallpapers and droidmod. hehe. sad ppl with stock,i feel for em.lol

Plus its now extremely hard to brick your Droid with the sbf file being out. theirs almost no risk in rooting now

you don't have a choice with the new 1.0 you get live wallpaper and no smoked glass.. hope that changes...

I added smoked glass by adding the them.
SmokedGlass not included with DM1.0?

Then you change the clock to white by following this.
How to change clock to white and blue (step by step)
I thought it would be harder but it was not to bad. You have to use a PC and be sure to download the Motorola drivers.
USB and PC Charging Drivers - Motorola USA

Hope this helps

Gps

Is anyone experiencing GPS issue w/ their Droid after updating w. DM 1.0.
It's only been a problem for the last few hours so I'm not sure if adding the 3D launcher on top of the DM rom is the reason for this. It's not just w/ google maps but all my GPS enabled programs. IE: Where, Places, Urbanspoon, News and Weather Widget. When I load maps the GPS icon is present in the notification panel and it doesn't seem to get a fix also can't seem to get a network fix either. Maybe it's (gasp) poor signal, but it's VZW and im in a major urban market so it can't really be that. Please help.
Okay so My maps are getting a location fix via GPS but my other programs are painfully slow at getting a fix. I'm not sure if it's due to my 3D launcher. I know there have been a lot of reports regarding the buggyness of that launcher and am unsure if the one i installed is that version, because as I understand it there is the regular 2.1 3d launcher and a newer sense launcher. For anyone reading this what I did was I originally had sholesmod. I downloaded through my phones browser the new droidmod dm updater from the droidmod site that was posted somewhere here in this post. I installed DM 1.0. and flashed. I love how simple that is. Then I decided I had to have the cool water live wallpaper that was touch interactive w/ ripples, which turns out works w/ this launcher I found on droid-life
http://www.droid-life.com/2010/01/android-21-launcherapk-motorola-droid.html
I downloaded the file that was posted there on Jan 22, 2010 titled launcher2.apk again directly to my phone and presto instant 3d launcher w. touch interaction w/ the water and nexus one live wallpaper. Since a few hours ago my phones has decided to be a pain w/ GPS namely the new and weather genie can't get my location despite my GPS being enabled.
I also unsure if my overclocking is the root of the problem(pun intended). My settings are as follow
1200max/250 min
profiles on w/ 250min all
1000 while charging(I use a car charger quite often when using Navi)
600 while sleep stanby
600 when power <40%---really lengthens the crap out of my battery
800 when temp >37.1C
My phone does get warm and often sits at 800 I did notice that and I'm wondering if I'm possibly frying my phone w/o realizing it. Since I've only been overclocking for the past week and this is the first time ive taken the thing to 1200 is that a possibility for my GPS issues. Or is it that that launcher is way old and theres a better one I should use..

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
