Shortcut to silent mode

Hello,

New here and new to Samsung phones.

A simple question: How do I put my phone on silent mode in the easiest manner? As far as I've been able to uncover, I need to go to settings, then sound, then choose silent. This is a hassle. If I simply turn down the ringtone volume all the way, the phone automatically goes to vibrate mode - without an apparent option to go to silent mode. On my old HTC One, the same action provided the option of silent mode. Any tips on how to go to silent mode in an easier manner?

Thanks.

Press down on the vol button until it is in vibrate mode then simply press down again. Silent mode.

Hi, thanks. The tip of pressing the volume down button after the vibrate mode doesn't work. This is what I used to do on my HTC phone. However, nothing happens on the Galaxy S6. It's either vibrate or very low volume. Only option is to go through quick settings -> sound -> silent, which is a bit silly.

I have an HTC so I guess that's why it works for me. One additional thing, and this works on my HTC but I also thought it was integrated into the OS, but to quickly access your fast settings you can two finger pull from the top. By using two fingers it should eliminate the need to pull twice to access the fast settings.

On a side not I've noticed in the options a three finger gesture option but have yet to find any use for it...
