shorting battery life

Has anyone else noticed the battery wearing out already? Mine is now bearley lasting me 8 hours when it used to last 14

I would try to run it in safe mode to see if it could be a third party app

How could I find the issue there? I haven't used savemode on Android ever

If the battery life is ok in safe mode then it is probably a third party app. From there you would need to do some trial and error to find the offending app. Or you could always backup all data and do a factory data reset and don't install any apps to see if you still have the same problem.
