im not going to say that $300 is cheap, but you probably pay >=$80/month per smartphone. that's less than 4 months of service and you'll be in the contract for 2 years. the phone is already 10 months old and HTC has released at least 3 major/flagship phones since then b/w verizon and att. i dont see it's support going much further than gingerbread.
paying $300 up front for a galaxy Nexus vs $100 (on sale) for a TB is basically like paying an extra $8.33/mo over the life of your contract. totally and utterly worth it IMO no matter what you plan to use it for.
