Should I dump the Note 9 for the S10 plus?

I'm really torn. I'm in my third year of owning my Nexus 6P, and I'm just bored by it at this point, even though it runs adequately. I'm a basic user, in that I don't game, run benchmarks, or take anything other than the occasional point-and-shoot. So, it's just talk, text, music streaming, YouTube, and browsing the web and Reddit/forums. I've never owned a Note, so I don't know what it's like to miss the S-Pen, but I feel like you get the most bang for your buck with the Note; and it's better to have the pen and not need it, than to wish you had it when you don't.

Having said that, the prospect of the SD 855 and the in display fingerprint sensor have me intrigued. But with my use, I guess I wouldn't be able to tell the difference in processor speed. I wonder how much battery the fingerprint sensor eats up throughout the day? Whatever I get, I'm sticking with for a long time, so... yeah, first world problems.

I'm in the same boat and torn to whether or not get a Note 9 or keep my S8 Plus?

Not a huge, huge upgrade but need something new and different!!

Yeah first world problems haaa!?

I was going for the S10+ and did order it but had to cancel because they put my order on hold because of only one trade-in order per household... This made it easier for me to wait for Note 10. I was already 50/50 on it, but the $550 trade in made it a sweet deal.

You could have made another account and used a relatives address and do another trade in. If it says one per household there isn't anything wrong with that technically.

Yeah it was under my own account that I did it on.. I only have one address unfortunately. And that person that lives with me ordered theirs too under the same shipping address.

I'm waiting for the Note 10... Man, I don't know how folks change phones every 5-6 months because the process of moving stuff over to a new phone is something I only want to experience once a year. LOL But Android Pie has made my Note 9 feel up to date and I do not have my camera issues anymore as a result of the update (for the most part) - it can hold me over to late summer/fall.

I did play with a S10+ and I do like the dual cameras in the front and the triple in the back. I am not entirely sold that the camera hole in the front is that much better than a notch. I hate the notch, and but the camera hole is actually an obstruction within the screen space vs. pushed to the edge of the screen. Maybe I just have to get used to it.

I went to best buy and I was impressed by the s10 plus. The punch out was much more tolerable in person, in pictures it looks horrible. That prisim white is sexy as hell. But no S pen is a big thing for me. I'll TRY and wait until Note 10 is unveiled :)

I checked it out as well. I think it's a great looking phone. I think that S10e is going to be the big seller. Samsung really did well with the S10 line up. I'll wait for the Note 10, but if you don't use the S pen, there are some good choices from the S line up.

From a business perspective, Samsung should have with held the Android P/One UI update on the 9 series of devices for another month or so. Kind of thinking the avg buyer(those NOT on these forums) will not feel the difference in user experience when shopping the S10 line. From a consumer point of view, am glad we have the update. :)

That aside, going to hold on to my N9. Like having the last full screen(tho the S10's hole is immensely better than a notch) & still love LED notifications(have not used AOD).

Another thing it seems since the Note 7 is the S Line hype isn't that much and then in a month or so it fizzles out.

While the Note is hyped a lot more in advanced to its release and it's release is much more covered. Even though the S line sells more it just seems once it's released you don't hear much. Even the S10. again I don't hear about it a lot like you did with the Note 9 for example.

Even though the Note doesn't sell as well and is a niche device, it's still the big boy for Samsung. We should start hearing about the rumors towards the end of April as usual and the leaks. Of course if we don't then we can start freaking out about being no Note 10.

I mentioned earlier in comments here, My Note 9 is not being replaced by the s10,.
I did pre order the s10+ because I'm a phone junkie but I love the Note line and if I like what the Note 10 brings I'll jump on that also.

I just bought the note 9 last week for $700 through samsung. I had the note 7 and that was the best phone i ever had. I'm coming from the s8+ and i love the new ui and the bigger screen and s-pen. I just went to best buy and looked at the new s10plus and i don't think its worth me returning the note 9 and paying another $300. I absolutely hate the notch at the top. I don't think i could ever get used to it and the extra camera isn't a big deal because i don't use it much. THe finger print scanner i rather have on the back, so the front one on the s10 i don't care for.

I'm really proud of myself because I haven't looked at the s10. I haven't even read up on any of the features. I'm pretty happy with my note 9 and can wait for the note 10.

As for the topic you should get the s10 if that's what you want. We phone junkies like and want new shiny things. So if you're able, do it.

Interesting - I actually thought there was far more buzz on the S9/S9+ than there was on the Note 9. It seemed like when the Note 9 came out, there wasn't much more that was touted other than the S-Pen's bluetooth/remote feature. I am looking forward to the Note 10 and if the rumor is true - that it will have 4 cameras on the back a la S10 5G, it should make a lot of noise.

Read just a bit ago that the Note 10 will come with four cameras at the back and possibly a camera in the S-Pen; but also that the headphone jack might be removed. Something to consider.

Same here. I love the Note line too much to give it up. Ever since the Note 1 I was hooked.
