I am picking up a Nexus S 4G tomorrow, and I wanna get my little sister off her Palm Pixi. I have the Optimus running Reborn Rom, and I am not gonna go back to stock due to lazyness. Can she just ignore OTA updates and be fine (This phone runs pretty well as is, so I dont care about updates)? and if she does act a noob and install an OTA will it brick her phone?

Thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

absolutely not. custom roms are big boy toys. you will be placing it in dangerous hands. keep your optimus and hand over the nexus s here.

Of course she can ignore OTA updates (if there are anymore), but you can always warn her.........

I didn't think OTA updates will install without an error from a custom rom. I think they check to see the version that is currently running and as soon as it doesn't recognize it it will abort the update. You should only have to worry about the OTA update if you are running rooted with the stock rom. AFAIK
