So many lies in this thread!

Using jrummy overclock app on darkslide V 4.2 blurless. Ultra low vultage @1.4ghz. Stagefright are all set to true and rebooted. Performance governer is set on screen on. Run quadrant and tell me what you get?_

I didn't have these settings on set on boot, that's ulv 1.15ghz, lower than what you post. I walked up the ghz on ulv from my usual 1.15 and stopped at 1.4 as my phone was hot from running tons of quadrants. After each increase I edited my profiles to reflect the change. Using low voltage at anything above 1.25 crashed my phone. Setting a profile with performance governer on is crucial too, and stagefright.

Using the setcpu widget I turn the screen off and wait thirty seconds or so and turn it back on checking the widget to verify the profiles switched from screen off to on and at max mhz, then run quadrant.

In the jrummy OC app under extras, build properties, there is a manage stagefright option. In there are eight options, four for off, four for on. Select the "on" button for each of the four, hitting no for reboot until the last one.

Here's a breif article with a small blrup at tue bottom. Google for more.
Android 2.2 Platform Highlights | Android Developers

It also briefly talks about Dalvik heap which I have not messed with which could increase speeds.

From further reading all its doing is speeding up decoding of video and audio files which Quadrant uses as one of its variable when calcultaing its scores. By making the whole picture incrimently faster it increases scores more, ie memory read/write, decoding, video fps etc.

I had a higher baseline with gummy 2.5. I never went above my usual 1.15 on it though. With nothing done I was getting a 1500 quadrant, while dakslide was in the 1300's.

Im sorry but 1800+ sure, but 2100 with out OC BS, 2600+ you no way on the X, a phone with a tegra 2 sure but arm nope and deff not at 1.4.

They have made fake Benchmark vids before so...

Well calling people liars without any foundation is pretty rude. Thankgod we're on the internet, though may not send a good sign about USMC and Honor Courage Commitment! Did I just say that?

Anyways did you follow the steps posted above and run quadrant? Or just drop another post verifying your belief Im lying?

i'm calling BS on the 2100 score as mentioned above. especially since no overclocking was done. as for the 2600 score, i'm not sure how manipulating the benchmark still makes it a benchmark....if you are doing something to the benchmark to make it think the phone is decoding faster than is usable, but cant actually use that setting, kinda defeats the purpose.

P.S. @NewAge, critisize someone all u want, but please dont bring up a marine's integrity because he rudely doubted something you were saying.

Calling someone a liar is most definitely questioning someones integrity. I was simply attempting to vindicate my own integrity by posting exactly what I did to get those benchmark numbers. I in no way photo shopped or manipulated the actual process of the Quadrant, simply adjusted settings available in multiple apps to increase speed an perfomance.

As I served with thousand of Marines over 10 years I can justly bring up a Marines integrity. Or maybe I can't? Who's to say? I know I can't. Thats why I served. To protect that freedom of speech. Unless I was a commissioned officer, ellected official, ect. then you give up certain rights of speech.

I do see your point and perhaps I stooped a bit low. But dropping into a forum stickied "show off your overclock numbers", posting that there are lies, with no direction as to who he was talking to or about is imo not something a Marine does.

And where/how was integrity mentioned? Maybe tact. Honor Courage Commitment (which can imply integrity, at least it is in bootcamp)?

I do not want to hi-jack this thread. I am done but would be more than glad to take to PM as I'm bored!

I just wish the service at mcdonalds was is fast as my phone , haha :p

@NewAge I will give it another shot with jrummy's app soon but with every other app and rom I have tried I have never got a score higher than 1900s at 1.45 ghz, and considering the fake video that was put out claiming the X could be OC'ed to 2 ghz, I'm rather skeptical of extreme scores. I wasn't just saying that yours was fake, I was saying that there are more than one that were questionable. But in all fairness I will apologize for now, but once I can throughly test it myself I will post my results and findings.

As for the Marine part, you should know that a good Marine is honest, and also very out spoken, and expect the same from others so...

JESUS CHRIST

I just turned stage fright on and scored 2517! thats about 900 points difference without!

DX: Gummyjar stock, ULV 1.3 ghz. jrummy oc.

I don't have sdk tools installed yet because i've been a lazy bum, so no screenshot. so after I do that I will try and crank it up to the full 1.45 and see what happens then. Ill make sure to take a picture.

I got an 1852 on my DX.
I'm using Droid Overclock and SetCPU.
I ran it at 1.35 Ghz.
Nothing custom just my best out of 3.
I have a picture of it that i can post later on.
Hit me up!

Its hard to tell if stagefright is improving overall performance of the phone. I would imagine the only real speed increase would be in Media applications as that is what is seems to be controlling. I could be totally wrong and its only a hack to improve benchmark tests.

What are your experiences with speed differences with or without stagefright?
