The S21U is definitely not over saturated at all and images are very natural compared to previous Samsung phones. Dynamic range is massively improved not getting any over exposed images, zoomed images are a tad sharpened but nothing bad. As for smoothing I've yet to capture any faces

Couldn't disagree more. The camera is poor.
Zoom images unless in very bright day light on s still image are grainy, oily and overall poor quality. My P30 Pro from two years ago takes better photos when zooming.

The camera is also poor for pets and anything moving. It snaps the photo and you click the thumbnail straight after and it shows a clear, still image. And then the processing catches up and it ruins the photo. Seems like the hardware is capable, but Samsung proving yet again that the software they're applying is not at all.

Disappointed. Should have known this would be the case though as it's the same with all Samsung's.

@Aneres11: would you mind sharing your settings? thanks.

Yes I've tried disabling it and snapping pics with it. I've tried turning auto HDR off. Tried snapping in 108mp mode. The camera is great for sunny stills and so is the zoom. But you try taking a photo indoors and the zoom is grainy, noisy and not very pleasent.
I just find the whole camera to be a miss. Especially when it's sold around its capabilities. It's a Shane as the hardware is nice.

S21 Ultra Photos. Got the phone yesterday. The pine tree photo - that's at dawn with barely any light outside - love how it turned out.

Well I'm no camera expert and I usually just point and shoot. My husband will change some settings we video concerts a lot well we did when we could go to them LOL! But anyway those are good! We have 3 cats and I'll have my husband take a few pictures today and send them to me. My phone will be here tomorrow.

Hi, same issues as which, me? With the over processed skin smoothing and overexposure?

I noticed it's not just skin smoothing, my carpet and my dog's hair all seem to get smoothed out to an unnatural degree. I don't quite understand what Samsung is going for here -- are they really trying that hard to smooth blemishes out? I'm not sure why this is still something Samsung can't get quite right.

Some photos look like they just have no contrast at all.

These are Pixel 4 XL vs S21+ photos. Take a guess which is which. I just pointed and shot:

And yes, in the second set, the S21+ shutter was too slow, so it captured my dog blinking... Like I've said before, the shutter is just a beat behind, enough to sometimes get a different photo if the subject is moving.

Yes, sorry for the delay getting back to you. Yes that’s what I was talking about.

So what exactly is Motion Photo same as Live Focus did someone say. I never really used it on my phone nor do I really know what it does but your picture came out really nice.
SOmeone on here told me that. I find Portrait mode is similar to Live Photo.

Best fish tacos on the planet! Same goes for their caesar salad and steak fries. So. So. Good.
