SIII went for a swim.

Filed a claim and got an email stating they were back ordered. 2 things aren't working, the screen rotation and it thinks there are head phones plugged in.

I've had TEP since 2004, but only used it less than 3 times, so the last couple of years, I decided to take it off. It's not worth it in real world usage. Just use common sense and you shouldn't have any problem with damaged phones. Unless you're naturally clumsy :)

My current phone has fallen into my sons bathwater twice... and still works. Of course it didn't spend 5 min in there either, it was out / battery pull / and into the son's hearing aid dryer (plastic pouch with a desiccant puck).

My wife and daughter both are pretty clumsy though, the wife's palm pre had a chunk of plastic missing from the side. For the SIII I've been considering TEP and other alternatives: Square Trade, best buy replacement plan, or a rider on my homeowners insurance.

Not trying to be rude, but 5 years at $11 a month and a $150 deductible and it may not even cover water damage. Tell me how its worth it again.

I'm still doing my "Due Diligence" on insurance (I won't be upgrading till Aug 1) and Best Buy's plan looks like it does cover water damage, with no deductible. I think it is a lump sum price and is more expensive than square trade but less expensive than TEP.

Edit, yeah, if you are not clumsy it might not be worth it, but my wife and daughter's phones get pretty beat up. Plus the GSIII is a fairly expensive bit of kit.

I've had water damage covered before with TEP several times in the past year.

Still waiting on Asurion to get one in stock. The indicator on the phone is still white but the batter is pink. Is there any other indicators on the inside? It still looks like new except the screen rotation and none of the motion stuff works. Tried to calibrate it and the green bubble just sits there. Tempted to go to a different Sprint store and tell them the motion isn't working and see what they do.

But do they carry the 32gb blue in stores for an exchange?

There is no way they don't know catch water damage. There are at least a half dozen places in your phone that they check for water damage every time it's returned. They are so sensitive, taking your phone into a steamy bathroom too many times will cause it to fail for water damage. Once it fails a single test for water damage it is flagged and tep is your only choice.
