Not a problem...I actually see this thread pretty outdated...I would suggest potential rooters hit up unrevoked 3...will do the same thing in way less steps! You'll still have to flash a recovery if I'm not mistaken...but then you get a choice.

I retract the above statement about hitting up unrevoked 3...I didn't particularly realize you won't be able flash any rom after doing this. There are certain rom you need the ENG-HBOOT which is .76 and if you updated you'll have .79. This will not allow you to flash rom like Cyanogens. Use Simple Root to make sure you're not running into problems if you plan on flashing roms. If just want Shootme, or Wifi Tether or Titanium Back up unrevoked is fine.

you need to go back and read some of the Stickies... Everything you need to know is there...

for the Record if your goal was CM6 you should of used Simple Root

Yes like d3xn2o said make sure you read through the forum first, most of the time you'll find an answer. Simple Root is your first clue.
