Hey guys first time poster here. So I leave for school in about a week and I was due for an upgrade. Went to the store expecting/ hoping to buy a Droid X, but found out it'd be a two-week wait or so. I ended up picking up the Droid 2 since it's the same phone on the inside, and I'll gladly say I've had no reception or battery problems so far like others have. I'm pretty happy with the phone as it's my first Android device and smartphone for that matter. The problem is I don't really have an attachment to physical keyboards and the X's bigger display seems right up my alley.

I'd rather have the thinner X with more screen than the added bulk of the Droid's keyboard. Can I take the receipt to school with me an get the one free exchange within 30 days from the VRZN store down there, or am I SOL? Also, if anyone has insight on wether I should pick up one of the newly "displayed" Incredibles instead of the X I'm open to persuasion. Thanks a bunch guys

If you bought the phone from a Verizon store not an authorized retailer then yes all you need to do is take your receipt and make an exchange. They will charge you a $35 restocking fee but that is it.
As to which phone to get if you want the bigger screen then the X is the only way to go. The Droid 2 and Incredible have the same size screen. And the processor in the Motos are better than that in the Incredible. But if the locked bootlaoder is a problem to you then the Incredible is the way to go.
Good luck
