Simple Sharing option missing

The Samsung simple sharing option is missing on my friend's S7 edge, but it shows up on mine. We both have T-Mobile. He wants it too, but we can't find any options to activate it. Any help?

It's just a guess (it's been some time since I owned a Samsung device) but has he created a Samsung account and registered his S7? How to Login to Samsung Account – How To Account
