Since the Gear S has standalone features, are you using your phone less and less?

For me, yes. I have the Note 4, and noticed I am doing more texting, emailing, and occasional web browsing on my Gear S than on my Note 4. For heavy web browsing, I use my desktop when I am back at the office or home. I can't wait until the day when we can get close to same battery life as our smartphone. If I still use my phone at the same rate, I mind as well keep my Gear 2.

Somewhat. I'm considering going from a S4 to a Note Edge rather than to the S6. The main reason this is possible is I don't need to pull out the phone as often.

I use my watch more when I am out and my phone / tablet more at home. I like the balance I have with my gadgets they are all getting used... I can't say that was the case when I had a gear 1 but heck I did not even wear it everyday like I do this watch.

I would say no for me. I use my watch like an add-on convenience to my phone. I don't use it for making calls but I have all my notifications sent to my watch and can see quickly if something needs attention even if my phone is parked across the room or in my purse etc. I can't even imagine texting or browsing the Internet on that itty-bitty watch screen.

I only use my phone less in the sense that I don't carry it around the house with me any more. With the Gear S I put my phone on the stand/charger when I get home and leave it there. I take quick incoming calls entirely on my Gear S. Although when I am making calls I still prefer to use the phone and for longer incoming calls I will switch over to the phone after initially answering the call on the watch. The Gear S is a great convenience accessory for the phone, not a replacement.
