Yes. I downloaded this one, tried it out, and have now uninstalled it. I don't know if it hidding somewhere else.

Yea it worked great at first but when I tried it again we were upside down and had to turn our phones upside down to see each other right. I was going to uninstall and reinstall. I just haven't gotten to the reinstall part yet. I went to the apps drawer then MENU>REMOVE APP> and then just selected the Skype app and hit uninstall.

lovy, either will be in the data/app or system/app part of the phone, will not be able to get these system structure without root. Should be like any other .apk file go into menu-settings-apps-download-select app wish to remove-click remove. Done!!! By the way did you get it up and running lovy?

thank you im not rooted still learning how to use the phone came from iphone4 and no i didn't install it afraid i will do something wrong or it won't work at all, my luck sucks

lovy, I will never suggest to do something someone feels uncomfortable about. I will say this thou, I am on my third phone which is not rooted either, at which still may not I have some other issues with Verizon @ the moment. This how I did it thou, first make sure unknown resources is checked in the apps section under settings, went to Droid-Life as BigJohn stated find the first mirror link(mirror) clink download after the download popped up, download the file in which will be saved to download folder on the sdcard/download and from there use a file manager like; astro, es file manager, etc. then used my file manager to open the .apk to avoid any parse error or other complications to open and install the app.

Now I restate to anyone this is my choice and how I did the install, means to any other way is by one's on choice!

after 3 failed installs (mostly parsing errors)
i realized i had to edit the download name

from: ".com.skype.apk"
to: "skype.apk" and then it would allow itself to be installed when clicked through the ES File Explorer.

One is for verizon customers. One is for everyone else. Neither version in the market includes video.

if i just wanted to talk TB to pc without video which is the best Skype to download? as I stated before I saw in the market place the Verizon Skype is basically bloatware that cannot be uninstalled, this is why I am confused as to which one to install, I can wait for video just wanted to talk from TB to PC, and is this free? sorry for all the Noob questions.

One more thing to lovy, if you follow the instructions I provided with skype, you should be up on running to use with a computer. Provided you already a skype username ready to go or create one after the install.

P.S. lovy this app gives you a choice strait call with/out video!!!

Skype Mobile is exclusively for Verizon, works over 3G/4G

Skype is for other carriers, works over wifi only.

If the Skype that I downloaded doesn't have video, will it show a video icon in my contacts' pages? Some of my contacts do have that video option in addition to the message and call options.

I'm asking because I thought I downloaded the mirror file last night, but - based on the "how to's" explained here - I don't believe that I did it correctly.

Just tried it out and working amazingly well for me. I was on WiFi; didn't try 4G at this time.

Positives:
1) The quality is very good. Not as good as my 2 mp Logitech webcam according to my girlfriend, but pretty darn close!

2) I like that I'm not stuck at my desk. Can move around. Can change to the main 8 MP camera to show people what I'm seeing.

Any negatives?
1) None really right now. I'm not having any "upside down" issues. No LED issues (though I think I disabled the LEDs in the beginning).

2) In the beginning, it asks if you want to sync skype contacts with your address book contacts- tried it without luck- likely because my skype contact names and my address book contact names are different. I'm sure this will be addressed, but not a big deal right now!

Actually, I could only hear voices, but no video. Frustrating. Also, why does the Skype app say that in the United States the app can only run using WiFi??? WTF?? If this is true, then this Skype app won't be much use to me if it can only run off of WiFi.

Skype Mobile (which is different from Skype app and exclusively for Verizon) works over 3G/4G too. Video feature only works on Thunderbolt. So you can have cellphone to cellphone video call only if your other contact is also on HTC Thunderbolt.

Two days after downloading and installing this app, I finally tested it this morning. Placed a call to a contact in Kathmandu, Nepal - on her PC. I was on 3G. Voice was good. Being on 3G, picture was grainy and jerky but as I said, I was on 3G. I don't have 4G in my area yet and rumors have it that we will get LTE in our area in summer.
