Skype on Galaxy S4

[AC Question]

Hi, I bought galaxy S4 and installed skype app but it doesn't work when I use the mobile data ; and when using wi-fi network it operates well!
anyone help me please

Skype uses a lot of data. If it works well on wifi you should be pleased.
Are you on an unlimited data plan, or what?

unfortunately, wi-fi network not available constantly &I'm on a limited data plan (3 GB / month)
I'm confusing, Is it operate on a defined data rate or it operates on any rate?

If you use Skype, or indeed anything else, on a limited data plan, and exceed your data allowance, I believe you will be charged a great deal extra for it. I'm on pay-as-you-go myself, so am no expert. Whether they would actually cut off your mobile data altogether I don't know. I don't think that Skype would fail to work because your data allowance was such-and-such.
Is it possible that your mobile data signal is not strong enough?

I think enabling 3G will solve this problem

I believe that any signal which is slower than 3G will not support Skype, so yes, if you have a good 3G signal in your area, set your phone accordingly. That's via Settings>More>Mobile Networks>Preferred Network Type, unless you know this already.

Go into Settings>About Phone>Status, and you will be able to see the signal strength in any particular area, as measured by your phone. I believe that the lower the dBm number is, the better (mine at the moment is -73); and the higher the asu number is, the better (mine at the moment is 20). The numbers tend to fluctuate even while you're looking at them. Of course the signal strength indicator bars on your home screen will also give a rough idea....mine at the moment shows the maximum, four bars.
Perhaps do some measuring in your area and post the results?
