me too but it isnt worth the risk i need to have this phone for another whole year?
what does the term s-off mean?
what does the term s-off mean?
S-off means that you now have Super User ability (able to get access to every file and folder that htc or verizon doesn't want you to have access to)... Now, once you are successfully rooted, there is almost NO chance of brickin your phone unless you want to mess around with the radio's... if you are rooted and still stock, don't worry you are fine. you just have the ability to use root explorer app or any other Root only app in the market.... I cant imagine a phone of mine not being rooted, especially to get the bloatware crap off of it... thats just my opinion. I just unrooted my incredible and turned the s-on again so that I could sell it on ebay...i have to keep my phone for another year. by having root on the phone does it have a chace to get bricked? also what does the term s-off mean?

whats the easiest way to make another backup?
also what settings should i put for set CPU?
In ROM manager app select back up current ROM, just rename it something you will remember....whats the easiest way to make another backup?
Please don't take this the wrong way but if your not sure about flashing ROM's and making backup's/restoring backup's I would stay away from messing with the processor.
thanks guys what are the best root apps for me to get started?
Root Explorer, Wireless tether, Shoot Me (for taking screen shots) and titanium backup for sure.... I have a thread on the main rooting, roms and hacks section on how to easily get the wireless tether from the market, it is currently "hidden" but its still therethanks guys what are the best root apps for me to get started?
when there is a software update will i be able to get the update with root on my phone? or will i have to unroot to get the update if there is one in the future?
Never used Barnicle wireless tether, I only trust Wireless tether from the app market.... as do many other ROM developers that include it with their ROM...(im not a developer)... but you cant just go to the market and get it.. here is the link for it.... SELECT THE THIRD ONE DOWN 2.0.7 http://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/downloads/listhow is barnicle wifi tether?
If they are zip files then you are correct ...just flash them like you did the ROM. When I flash something like a theme or mod I prefer to do a data/cache wipe and a dalvik wipe NOT THE DATA/FACTORY RESET! Probably isn't necessary just for a mod but its just what I do.
When you do flash the new keyboard and stuff make sure you're doing as "install zip from SD" and "choose zip from SD" and not "install update from SD"
