Slow charging?

The following worked for me. Prior to performing the following I had the phone plugged in over night and the battery level remained at 9%, here the steps.
Note the current battery level
Power off the phone
Unplug the power cable from the phone, my charger was an AC outlet
Now plug in the power cable to the phone
The phone should now be charging, in 5 to 10 minutes check the battery level to confirm it's charging. When I confirmed my battery level had increased by 14%

The only way I can get my phone to charge is to apply my method above. I stopped by the Sprint store today and they were as helpful as tits on a bull.

I'm assuming Fast Charging is one of those things not all carriers have since I can't find it anywhere in my settings. I have Verizon. They suck the fun out of everything! That said, I really can't see where I would need fast charging. I charge it at night while I sleep on the wireless now. Battery lasts all day and then some. Have yet to come close to running out.

I also have Verizon. Settings-Device Management-Battery (then hit the 3 dots in upper right-hand corner)-advanced settings.

I am not seeing "Device Management" in my settings(Verizon Note 8)...??? I just found this thread and I am having problems with fast charging as well...

That's because it isn't on a Verizon phone and I'm not sure why everyone (even people on Verizon) keeps saying device management when it's NOT on a Verizon phone. Go to settings-battery-3 dots and you'll find the fast charging setting.

Yeah, heat is one of the worst things, in addition to a compete discharge, that will shorten the long term life of your battery. One of the first things I turn off on any of my new devices is fast charge.
