Android Central Question

I have two of these tablets that my friend got off a Walmart pallet and both of them want a activation code. Is there anyway around this? I would like to keep them stock but I can put on a custom firmware if needed.

Thanks

@OG Style - XDA Forums. If it's normal Samsung, however, the only ROMs that will work are minor modifications to the stock ROM.

But you're still going to have to activate it before you can flash a modified ROM. Activation is the first step. (If Walmart is keeping you from getting an activation code, I'd contact them, unless the ad clearly said "for parts only", or something like that. If it's intended for use, it can't be, and in most places that would constitute illegal advertising.)

Sometimes when I do a factory reset it will let me go through the setup and get into the system without asking for the code.

Then reflash the ROM when that happens. (Go into download mode - Volume Down + Home + Power until it restarts, then use Odin to flash the stock ROM.)
