Smart Cleaning app stopped

I have a Verizon VS98523C lg g3 non rooted phone with... you guessed it... 5.0.1LOLLIPOP... At some point after the phone's "upgrade". I opened my settings, tapped the Smart Cleaning app, it opened gathered it's information like normal, then I tapped the clean button & a box pops up telling me the Smart Cleaning app had stopped working, I tap ok. I try again and again and again getting the same results... Then I tried restarting it...... I tried removing the battery ...... Finally, with nothing else to loose, I very cautiously did a full factory reset. It fixed a few other bugs I had but, but as far as the Smart Cleaning app ... Maybe I can just get another app from all knowing Google play? Aиy idєas?

Smart cleaner is preloaded on the G3 right? What benefits does this 'feature' give you, it may be just another one of those programs that claim to speed up your device. If I were you I wouldn't worry too much, it will most likely do more damage to your phone than fix it.

Yes it came preloaded. From what I've read here in the forums, I've decided to freeze it and use a different app from the Google play store. Thank you for replying. Just seems that most of the preloaded apps on most phones seem to be a waste of time and space. Thanks again...

You probably will never need a cleaner app. Please, please don't tell me you installed Clean Master!
