Ohhh I might have to give these a try. These would work perfectly for me, our winters here in Upstate NY can get pretty brutal. Thanks for posting!

I have some north face gloves that have "e-tips. " I got them as a gift, and they work wonderfully.

I started seeing these on a lot of people a couple years ago while I was working on a guard detail in NYC in the Army. Pretty cool concept but it never struck me as something I needed to have. I guess it's just a taste thing. I wear gloves on a regular basis in the winter and am very accustomed to having to take them off for more dexterity for many other things than just using my phone. Now the jacket I wear snowboarding has an inside pocket for touch screen mp3 players that simulates your skin so you can use it with any gloves on. This even worked with my BB Storm which can normally only be used with your finger directly to prevent accidental key presses.

Another alternative

Ok so its getting pretty cold out here in Jersey and most my family now have Android devices. So as a stocking stuffer i was thinking of getting smartphone gloves for everyone. Has anyone used them or have you found good ones at a really affordable price point?

Here is a link to an example.

Any suggestions appreciated

If you have a pair of gloves already that you like, or don't want to pay a premium for "digital gloves", you can modify your own. It's quite simple and only takes a spool of conductive thread. I've linked to an Instructables article below:

I use a pair of batting gloves for when I am driving. Nice leather ones. They are not super warm but leave me with dextirity. I found out recently, that i can use my fascinate with out any issue with the gloves on. No need to modify them at all.

This is one of the best ideas ever! I hope they work. I'll have to go to JCPenney and check them out.

I use freehand gloves for photography which have the thumb and index finger pull back...they work great.

yeah i thought of those but id rather have even my tips covered,,,, i actually tried those Isotoner smart touch gloves at the store they worked pretty well but only a specific area of the tips of the gloves have the conductive thread, i would have liked more area because im sure everyone touches their screens in various of angles.

but over all they worked, but they were pricey. ill keep searching for a cheaper solution that keeps my entired hand insulated.
