Verizon Galaxy S8 Smart Switch issues

Hey everyone! My gf recently purchased the S8 and we set up the Smart Switch on her old phone (S7 Edge). We selected to have all the old content on the S7 Edge transfer to the new S8. All the pictures, contacts, videos and documents transferred to the S8 but the apps did not. I went to the app store on the S8 and saw the list of old apps she had on the S7 with the option to re-download. We downloaded one to see if it would work but all of her apps have been reset. Nothing was saved. Her S7 had back-up assist on and was synced with the new S8 no problem. But if smart switch said it transferred the apps, where are they? Thanks anyone who can throw in.
 
If you can redownload it then it means it didnt transfer.

Sadly Smart Switch isnt 100% perfect. Heard of users having to redo the whole process.
 
Also, Smart Switch doesn't do app data if the app developer didn't code for that. You should use Helium in conjunction with SmartSwitch.
