Smart Switch

Hello,

Just preordered the S9; will be upgrading from S7.

Some of my apps and data are on a SD Card. I plan on using Smart Switch to transfer from the S7 to S9. Do I leave the SD Card in the S7 before using Smart Switch or do I install the SD Card in the S9 and then perform Smart Switch?

What is Smart Switch? Is it the Samsung app to transfer content? If so, does it transfer all of my apps and app settings? It it better than Verizon's transfer app?

Yup. It transfer to a Samsing, transfers all apps and settings like homescreen layout, folder layout, all the phone settings, wifi passswords, pictures, contacts, call logs, messages, etc. Not all apps support app data transfer though.

May i ask what doesn't get transferred and how would one go about transferring those items after Samsung Smart Transfer is done, please? Thank you.

Some app data/game saves. Most apps have their own backup anyway, so use that. Or use Helium.
