Hello,

I've got an Honor 8 here, and have a quick question. I enjoy unlocking the device with my fingerprint, it's very fast. But, sometimes I am unlocking my phone on accident. Is there a way to set it so I can unlock with my finger print but only after manually waking the screen with a press of a physical button such as the power key or smart key?

I don't see a way to do this after taking a quick look at settings.

I'll dig in and see if there's a setting that enables this.

I don't see a setting either. What about changing the finger you have set up. Maybe use your middle finger or something, it might keep it from accidently hitting the ridiculously fast fingerprint sensor on accident.

This is the best (and only) way around this. Touching the fingerprint sensor will make it unlock unless Honor adds a feature to make it work like iOS 10 does by default.

It sounds like you may have the touch or swipe gesture turned "on". This means you can touch or swipe the sensor with any finger to perform common tasks. To disable, follow these steps:

Open [click to enlarge] Settings.
Touch Fingerprint ID.
In the Touch and hold gesture section, turn "off" switches to avoid accidentally opening apps and your phone.

In the Slide gesture section, turn "off" switches for features you don't want to enable.
Show notification panel: Swipe down on the fingerprint sensor using any finger to open the notification panel. Tap the sensor twice to clear all notifications, and swipe up on the sensor to close the notification panel. (NS)
