So, anyone thinking about jumping ship?

Not gonna lie.....

Scrolling through those spec sheets on the S6 edge+ and Note 5 and came across the 3000mah battery immediately got my gears turning....

Battery was one of the major deal breakers I skipped the S6 for in favor of the G4. I liked the rest of the phone except the terribly undersized battery.

So now that they have beefed up the juice, is anyone thinking of jumping ship from their G4 to give Samsung another shot? Why or why not?

I won't be going to the Note 5. It didn't have enough to wow me -- I will be snagging a Moto X Pure. I want to try stock Android :).

I'm more interested in a Moto X variation.

I've had my G4 for less than a month. I won't upgrade until I've gotten at least a year's use out of it, and then I'll only do so for a significant (to me) upgrade. Man, I wish Sony would get in bed with Sprint. I'd love the possibility of having one of their Xperia devices in the future.

Nope :)
I can't think of a single reason why I'd prefer the S/edge/± or the new Note over the G4. I don't like Samsung's UI any better, I already have two 3000mAh batteries (that I can switch out in a second), I can a put massive SD card in my G4 if I decide I need it, I find both the G4 camera and the camera app superior.. why?

Another reason, at least for me, is to vote with my feet for top-end phones that actually give me replaceable storage and batteries. I absolutely want to see manufacturers to continue to offer this in their devices.

Yeah I forgot to add a "jumping ship for 'other'" option lol.

Meh, nope. I do miss my note 2, but really love my g4. The note series is great, until they took away removable battery and sd card support. I'll keep the G4 until project ara comes to us then I'll be just peachy.

Nope. The motox is the contender

I love me some Samsung Galaxy S6 but I'm sticking with my LG G4 because of the extra battery and the removable Storage! Both are pretty important to me!

I am confused. G4 battery is 3000mAh. Galaxy Note 5 battery is 3000mAh which is actually smaller than the Note 2 which is 3100mAh. The Note 2 has worst battery life than the G4 even when the Note 2 was new. Why would you want to switch based just on the Note 5 battery being 3000mAh? :p

I just got the G4. Removable battery/SD slot is nice, but being rooted with ads blocked and free tethering the day after unboxing it is even better. Sammy's overly strict protection has soured me on their latest offerings.

Jump ship to Samsung?!?!.....HELL NO!! What do you think I'm a blind sheep being lead to slaughter or something!! I'll leave my fantastic internationally acclaimed and unlocked G4 for either the G5 or a Motorola device. I don't even see Samsung in my rear view mirror anymore, lol!

I'm happy with the G4. I'll keep my eyes on the Moto X style but will probably wait until next years crop of phones to upgrade again.

As I've said so many times that even I am weary of it, let alone all you guys, Samsung won't let me customise the screen nav buttons to what I'm used to, which LG will....so how am I supposed to use a Samsung phone? Even if I could, nothing would make me want to abandon my G4.... though at least I could consider acquiring a Samsung as well.
Of course, I could be wrong....perhaps, when I check the specs of the latest Samsung devices, I'll find that they've added that option....

I never said I was going to. I was just looking for opinions. I know a lot of former Samsung fans, myself included, skipped the S6 due to the dismal battery they put in it. So with that being equal now on the S6E+ I just wanted to see if there was anyone planning on going back to Samsung. And I was more aiming the question toward the S6E+ not the Note 5, though they have basically the same specs.

As for why someone would switch? I think Samsung's displays have outdone LG and the G4 has had a lot of lag and touch sensitivity issues.

I may, depending on what the Nexus devices have to offer.
