So how many people

I signed up to preorder at the end of April. I’m number 26XX in line. No idea what that means.

I'm in the UK so I have to wait until the 26th to pre-order, but it's very interesting to see how this plays out in case they decide to do something similar for us.

Are you getting one?

If I was to break my hand and buy another Samsung product.
It would have to be a unlocked phone from Best Buy.

But its hard to see me wanting another Samsung phone.

It will probably be in Best Buyin a month.

I will look at it.
But that is about all I will do.

Its the 1st year of Technology.

Guess its coming in 4G too.

What about 5G

I'm really on the fence here. My mind tells me $1980 is just too much to spend on this and resale value will be horrible - like 50% or less. I'm guessing reviews won't be ready before the preorder deadline. I'm 2000 in line whatever that means. I don't mind blowing a little money for the latest and greatest but this is a tough call. I guess I could take a shot and return it if need be. Now that the day to pay is almost here, are others going in?

It looks like a cool phone. I'll follow its progress, but I won't order it. Foldable phones with large glass screens = uneasy Morty2264. 🤣

My question is last year.

Everybody was saying that at the end of 2008 there would be 5G service that would be 100 times as fast as 4G.
But we would have to buy new phones.
Right after we just bought phones.
Then they said it would be better in 2019 so wait.

Well answer me this. .
This is the 4th month of 2019.
We have heard very little about 5G

And now they are saying if you buy a 5G phone it will not work on a 4G network.

I remember when 3G phones was then norm.
And 4G came out.
The phones would work on 4 G networks and if it didn't find 4G it would go to 3G

Now something seems fishy that a phone can't be made to work on 5G and drop to 4G if it don't find a 5G tower.

So think about a little bit down the road about this Next Big thing.
Are you ready to get rid of a new phone to buy the next 5G phones.

If you don't preorder.

You can wait and go in Best Buy and play with one a few weeks or so after that.
Its not the end of the world if you don't get the very 1st phone.

If I even thought about one.
I would want it unlocked from Best Buy.

The carriers will not tell you the truth.
They told me I could take the S8+ and unlock them when I got them paid for.

It didn't happen.
They wouldn't unlock it.

As far as I know it should be able to work both though there may be some switching challenges.

I'm number 161. Dont understand the point of this. So is it really limited quantity ? What if the demand is high ?

I have a feeling a few stores will have this on display. Have you seem how people handle the demo units? Last thing Samsung wants is the store demos showing the deteriorating fold considering how people handle these store demos.

early adopters. I'm gonna wait. it's new tech and I want to at least have it in own hands before considering buying.

otoh, I'm not missing an tablet at all and I'm fine with my 6+inches smartphone.

so I'm gonna wait and wait until one is posting an 'screen replacement impossible' rant.

then I'm gonna wait until an mainstream foldable device is out, which is ready for the opened consumer market with all the support and user base it needs
