I'm not even sure why you would go to Best Buy for a phone case. Everything mobile related I see in there is usually overpriced as hell compared to getting it on Amazon.

Exactly! At this day and an educated customer doesn't shop at retail stores. Better deals can be found online. Lower prices, no sales person hassle, sometimes no tax and free shipping are why I don't shop at stores like Best Buy and Amazon gets all my business.

I went to best buy yesterday to hold the packaging in my hand. I agree Amazon is the way to go for products, but if I can actually hold my phone up to a case before I buy, I will.

Best buy is usually a last resort for me. The times I used to go there, I found most employees totally clueless about what they sell. I went to BB on last year's Nexus 7 release day and one sales person asked me what that was. I immediately went to the service desk and they got it for me. Best buy is a terrible place to shop. I get all my stuff on Amazon.

I love amazon but from now on if the item has a screen I WILL buy it at Bestbuy since I had a terrible experience buying a TV thee where the Frame was coming a bit off on a edge ( nothing else is wrong but probably got damaged from shipping) and my galaxy note 10.1 2014 edition i bought from Newegg the box was ripped up and back plastic was flimsy

Did that for me yesterday when I bought the Galaxy note 10.1 2014 which was on sale for $549.99 at bestbuy till yesterday but Amazon still selling it for that price. I love amazon but if Bestbuy is going to price match i prefer getting it in person sometimes

Sometimes Best Buy has good sales that make it worth using - especially if you're into their protection plans, etc.

Their protection plans are the best and were awesome for phones but unfortunately people had to abuse it so they had to change it. I actually bought it for a pair of earphones and they got damaged about 5 months in and got a brand new one in box within like 5 minutes after looking up my phone number since I am on their reward program thingy

Their protection plans were great, no deductible and no claim limit. Now, you have to pay $150 deductible if your smartphone is physically damaged, and I believe 3 claim limit. Since they don't cover loss or theft, Verizon asurion is better for me because it is $100 deductible and covers loss or theft. Verizon asurion covers 2 losses per year.

I got the Spigen clear case. I ordered from Amazon and they said it wasn't available unit the 10th. But it shipped on the 2nd. It add significant bulk to the device, but doesn't hide the phone.

Spigen cases - check Amazon. Doesn't look like they are in stock until the 10th.

Even for twice the price? Amazon is excellent when it comes to returns. I usually know what I want before I get it online anyway.

One of the only reasons I go to Best Buy is to do research. I also like the idea of seeing/touching/holding the product in person. Yes most things are more expensive, but you really are paying for the convenience of walking out with a product in your hands. Not to mention online prices don't include shipping, and what happens if you receive the wrong/damaged product. You have to hassle with sending it back or getting a hold of the company for a replacement. Not nearly as easy as dealing with a retail store (I don't like to wait. If I'm spending my hard earned money, I can get very impatient sometimes!)

Honestly I do both, order online and buy in retail stores. I think there is a place for both.

Also, Best Buy has been getting quite a bit of exclusives, especially in the mobile marketplace. This is a sure fire way to get people to come in to the store and buy things. You can't get a Zagg glass screen protector for the m8 in Amazon, I looked. Little things like this keep me coming back. Also open box items and clearance items can definitely be worth it.

I went to a Best Buy yesterday in the Denver area just to kill some time and ask if they knew when they would be getting the HTC Dot View cases and they had no idea what I was talking about. I then asked to see the new Htc One M8 and they did not know if they had any? I found a Gold colored display model that was not even turned on and felt like it was plastic. It felt like it was just a shell and not a real phone. In the middle of the store they had a whole area designated for the Galaxy S series phones that was as bright as an operating room. Banners and advertisment in every direction you looked. They had at least five employees manning this area and they would come and running to customers like a used car lot. I was approched by several employees asking me to take a look at the Samsung phones. Thay were all very disapointed when I asked them were they keep the good phones? They said these are the good phones, and I just replied no the HTC ONE M8's. They did not seem to think I was was very funny. I left the store disapointed and realized that no wonder Samsung out sells HTC. It is a shame that they do not even give the average consumer the oppertunity to see what is all available. And by the way I love my new HTC ONE M8!

We got our glass protectors at a Best Buy mobile in the mall. They had the Otterbox Commuter in black only. I went to Verizon and got the purple and my husband got the defender in black. He had to have his screen protector replaced it wasn't put on right and was peeling in the top corner. Store was out so they sent us to the big Best Buy store down the street. I asked about cases and they actually had a couple. One was kind of clear with gold and they had the Defender I think and maybe even one more I don't remember. But I buy usually online but to be able to get the purple otterbox in store and have for when I was getting my phone I don't my paying a little more sometimes. But this case is the same online I think.

Totally agree with this post. Let's be serious, if you owned a store would stock products that didn't sell? ....NOPE. iPhone's and Galaxy's are the top sellers so it's not BestBuy's fault you decided to purchase a device that's not popular.

It's not just Best Buy either. I was in Verizon trading some stuff in and the rep was talking to some people saying, "only Samsung's phones have SD card slots now", and my friend that worked there said, in a week since launch, he never sold any M8's. Just a lot of uneducated employees that unfortunately do not know enough about the products that they sell. It's easy enough to spout off facts about phones that you sell regularly, but they should still know about more than just the Droids, iPhones, and Samsung devices =\

Best buy does not price match Amazon for cell phones. You may get lucky and get them to but as a policy they do not
