Just wondering if the laser would to stop working would that mean the camera would be useless?

Yea i mean does it still focus or what.

Yes a smart answer would be welcome but it's just occurred to me that LG may add a manual focus ability in a future update, or a third-party app may become available.

Okay, I meant if the laser failed, manual focussing could be used if that becomes possible...better than nothing.

I believe it's infra-red. But even so I wonder whether it might just be visible in fog.

I remember seeing somewhere online that someone was able to see the laser using some kind of filter. I wonder if the laser can be used as a measuring device.

You cannot see it with the naked eye. A webcam or any other video camera can pick it up using a filter, though.

Interesting. I don't think the camera would stop completely. I think it would just take longer to focus than it would with the laser.

It's kind of like on a camera. It shoots our a red infrared light to help focus. Without that, it would constantly try and focus.

In the days of film photography, they said that if you looked directly at an infra-red flash, you could just see a red glow.
But yes with fog, I suppose if anything the water particles would cause a loss of energy and convert the light to an even lower frequency.

Unofficial Android Forums Health Warning: Don't look into your infra-red focussing aid to see if you can see the beam of pretty light. Also, if there's fog, don't go outdoors, you mighty get a nasty chest infection.

How far does the laser go? Like if i was to take a picture of a land scape and want to focus on a mountain in a distant will the laser hit it
