So is ROM development just totally dead for this phone or what?

Is there anything going on that I'm missing, or did everybody just give up? To be honest, the screen and processor on this phone were too ty for me to handle, so I'm jumping ship and activating a used Epic 4g, which seems to have countless ROMs available. I'll continue to check back here, but is anybody planning anything anytime soon? I'd be totally willing to help with some sort of development here, if someone was interested. The last I heard, Samsung's kernel source didn't work? Did we get past that or are we stuck? Cause this blows.
