And their positively stellar reputation doing phone releases...

And the timely, well-communicated affair that the nexus release has been...

I am now betting they can the nexus.

Like they did the GSII.

And instead try to push the Droid Razr on all of us again.

Your thoughts?

My thought is if they do this they will have a huge mess on their hands. I feel like a bunch of people moved onto this after the GSII business. For them to can this would be huge, and I think they know that.

Plus the phone has already been manufactured and ordered, apparently. So I vote no.

Yeah...they have a few hundred thousand devices on their hands. It's a done deal...there would need to be some sort of doomsday scenario for this device not to drop on VZW

No, there are most definitely supply contracts in place by this point and verizon has already bought at least one shipment of devices. Unless verizon hates money, they will at least sell the phones they have and fulfill their supply contracts.

My thoughts are that you're paranoid. Don't worry so much, we'll have Nexus phones in our hands in 2 Weeks

Kinda crazy to pay for exclusive deal just to can it.

Or

Could be there secret weapon to combat against at&t new lines of 4glte phones that's currently gingerbread.that's coming out some time in december or the first week.
Verizon could market and say its the first ice cream sandwich os etc and blah blah blah and all.

My thoughts are, since you are now "betting they can the nexus," Ill accept your wager. You buy me the Gnex if it does come out, and I'll buy you a phone of your choice if it doesnt. Deal? Haha.

You like conspiracy theories, don't you?

Did I ever try to pass off what I said as anything other than speculation?

I don't trust Verizon- that I'll freely admit. Like any company, their primary concern is making money. If that means screwing over a few thousand nerds, so be it. Also, 120k nexuses is nothing- even if they paid 200 dollars apiece for them (which I highly doubt) that would be nothing but pocket change for Verizon.

No offense, but how many threads are you going to start complaining about the way this release has been handled? Yeah, it sucks that it isn't out yet, but considering the fact that Verizon never gave us a solid release date, it's not technically late. There's no way this phone gets canned.

Lol could you guys imagine what this board would turn into if VZW canceled the Nexus? Wow...

None taken mate.

Gotta do something to pass the time, right?

That depends on your standards and POV. Considering the ad here promoting Black Friday pricing, it's late by VZW's own standards. Then there are Google and Samsung to consider.

True, but did Verizon actually announce that the phone would be out Black Friday? Yeah, I get that there were internal delays, but seeing as how a release date was never formally announced, it's not technically late. Trust me, I'm just as anxious to get this phone as you are and I would have loved to have gotten it way back on the 10th.
