so many complaints

What's wrong with expecting perfection and not accepting mediocrity?

I have had used many Android devices and bought an iPhone in Apr. The iPhone is the longest I have stuck with a phone by far. I had an upgrade and used it a couple weeks ago on a DINC2. After 2 days I was back to my iPhone. I just got tired of always switching this or that with the Droids. Yes the iPhone is is much less customizable but it just doesn't have the issues the Android phones have... IMO.

If you expect perfection how do you stay sane? Maybe its because we have different tolerances for perfection.

I have many friends that have tried Android and it wasn't for them. They prefer the simple life and the apps that ios has to offer. I have no problem with that. It's fun to give each other crap (android vs iphone), but at the end of the day we're talking about a phone.

I respect you for your opinion as I respect my friends opinions. They all have their pros and cons. I think there would be more of a concern if we were comparing whose flip phone is better. ;)

Who does that with a BB? Oh yeah everyone....at least twice a day.....I used to time my 10 minute boots with the Storm all the time because I was constantly messing with different versions of that horrid OS and changing things around to try and make it run like it should. I never understood, and I used them, why BB was such a big deal once the other smart phone started coming out. I wouldn't even say my email experience on them is as good as the one on my android phones now.

*Striped out troll bait*
Decided it wasn't feeding time.

Yeah and every phone ever released has had these threads, *breaking news* the sky is blue! Sounds like another frustrated telesales agent. For an iPhone fan you sure spend A LOT of time on an Android forum.

This.
I'm not an iphone fan, I have the nexus...... I agree bb used to be the phone to have a few years back before android really caught on.

The iphone is having issues with battery on the 3.5 inch screen I can only imagine how much worse it would be if they increased that. I mean there is a reason they stuck with the small screen, and it isn't because of the retina display.....

Sorry, but the iphone 4s gets me 20 hours easy. I just want 16 out of this phone, and I think that is possible after using it normaly and letting the battery settle. Or I am getting the extended. Now that my screen is fixed, I prefer the Nexus over the iphone, barely.

Why are people comparing the battery life of an non LTE iPhone to an LTE phone. I can get two out of my iphone, of course you can it's not 4G.

I hope I made the right choice....chose this over the rezound.

Coming from a dinc, rooted with CM7 I thought the rezound would be just a next generation DINC. Like going from iphone 3g to iphone3gs type of deal. Heck even the 4s is getting worse battery life then the 4g.

I am concerned with ring volume and the heat issue store rep had one and it was hot....
Battery I have a portable USB charger thing that I use when I am on a football field photographing long sporting events, etc. Don't know if I made the right decision but I can at least say my phone will look different, behave differently, etc. then previous devices and I actually love my DINC and it's size. But this phone APPEARS bigger then it actually is.

I have to say from using the nexus in store I was less than impressed. The thing had a weaker signal than all the other phones in the store, it dropped the data signal somehow, had to reboot it to get it back. The screen was nice, no better than my charge's screen though. The back was taped on to keep it from falling off, not a good sign. they had a rezound beside the nexus, and honestly it seemed like the better phone.

The only issue i have is a big one. My headphone jack just doesnt work. Has anyone else had this problem? Ive been searching for 3 days and it appears like it is my phone only and not a design mistake.

The taping has been discussed. It's because of the idiotic way Verizon displays phones. I've not had any issues.

I haven't gotten mine yet, so all I can add to this thread is the idea of "Wait, they'll fix it" is what got me stuck with a Blackberry Storm for 14 months. And at that time Blackberry had a far better reputation for quality than Samsung does right now.

The Storm is what killed RIM. The difference is this is Google's flagship right now. I have no doubt they will push Samsung on the radio issue. Other than that this phone is great. Also Samsung is much better than they used to be.

I've had this phone for 24 hours and have seen 2 updates. I'd say this phone will be pretty polished in no time.

The local corp store is using a black ziptie around the whole phone! Makes it a tad difficult to swipe up and down the screen.

Wouldn't take an iphone if you lined it with gold.
Well. . .if there was enough gold on it to equal the value of the Nexus, then you could have a Nexus and something that looks really cool when you hit it with a sledgehammer!

I honestly have no idea what you're talking about. My galaxy nexus works GREAT, dmchenry35.

I'm really not sure what people are talking about. I have found some "bugs" but they are not Samsung or Android bugs, they are app bugs. There are some features I like less in ICS than GB, but its small and I am sure it will fade as I get used to working with it.

I'm still worried about the signal issue and if it is a hardware our software issue. The rezounds and razrs around the store all had 4-5 signal bars while the GN seemed to do well to have 2-3. Add in that it seemed to randomly lose the data connection and it makes me wonder if this is a good upgrade from my charge

Has an update been pushed to update the radio? Not yet. Relac wait and see. If it doesnt then dont upgrade. No need to get your panties in a bunch the phone hasnt even been out for a week on verizon. There is already an update in the works, see if that helps anything.

I was ready to pull the trigger unit I saw the many posts of users having issues. I'll continue to monitor the forums to see if those issues are resolved before getting one.
I'm not having any issues with my current phone, so I'd hate to have a device with bugs and kinks, if what users in the forums are saying is true.

BS. Maybe releasing crap software/products is acceptable to the masses where your from, but where I'm from we call that people being suckered in to being beta testers for the phone. Getting the short end of the stick, a raw deal, bent over and probed with no lube, etc etc etc...

You don't see Apple releasing iPhones with tons of problems or build quality issues(minus antenna gate), hell you didn't see RIM releasing phones in their prime with mass user complaints.

Really its going to be how Google/Samsung/Verizon respond to these complaints if there are merits to them, and what they do to make things right.(See antenna gate bumpers).

There isn't any need to put lip stick on the pig, if it sucks, it sucks. Nothing can be done about it, create the obligatory complaint thread and return it. The only way things get fixed is by effecting the bottom line for these companies.

Just one more person with 4 posts trying to stir it up.
