So, the Oneplus 3 gets Schooled again by yet another phone.

I have no issues with it. I mean honestly, I have never understood why people knit picked so hard on ****. The screen is fine.

That's what I mean. In reviews that were not anandtech, the Nexus 6 was wildly praised for it's screen. Now, according to measurements the screen was garbage. But people liked it, because people don't generally know what really accurate screens look like (and especially weren't used to them on amoled in 2014 other than the Galaxy S5). Now, the OnePlus 3 is worse than that, it's really bad - according to measurements. But will most people who don't know that realize it or care? Nah.

Like I said, we will see. I am supposed to get mine tomorrow (although it shows it is still in China). I am used to looking at good screens, so I am a little concerned. The screen on the Nexus 6 was not good. Oh well, I can always return it. I will report back once I get it.

Just got mine today and the screen looks fine to me. I'm coming from a S6 Edge and a Note 4 and this looks very nice IMO.

I mean I can compare screens all day long and tell you which one looks best. But in reality, I'm not comparing screens all day long...the one I'm using is perfectly fine.

I waited to buy the OP3 until AnandTech posted their review. I'm coming from a N5x, which I bought at launch. The first thing I noticed when I got my phone was that the colors seemed 'off' to me - the white point was too yellow, and colors looked washed out compared to my Nexus 5.

When AnandTech posted the review of the 5x's screen, praising it's color accuracy and brightness, I felt vindicated... until I realized actually, I've got it backwards: I didn't like the look of the screen, and it being accurate doesn't actually make me like it more. I'm concerned that the Pentile display will make text worse; but not that concerned.

At work, I've got an expensive, color-corrected screen I use for photo and video editing. I need accurate colors there, but does anyone do pro photo editing on their phones?

After using the 5X and 6P (in sRGB), using less accurate screens or even the 6P's other mode makes displays look poor to me - but prior to that I'd been primarily on Moto Phones for the 2 years before it and those screens sucked and they looked fine at the time.

Yeah, I'm going to see how the OP3 looks to me (and feels in my hand). The 6p is just too big for me to like using; but the 5x's lag issues are just killing me. If Google'd made a 'Nexus 5p' with 3GB RAM and a 810, I'd have bought it and probably have kept it for two years. It could well be that the OP3's screen annoys the hell out of me enough that I'd return the phone.

I said I would follow up, so here it is. The screen is very good. Unless it is next to an S7 Edge it is hard to notice any issue. A good quality screen is one of the important things to me and I do not have any issues with it. It reminds me of the 6S plus screen.

So far, I am very impressed with the phone. I like the size, build, feel and it is fast. Everything seems to work, which is good. The only thing I don't like is having to use all of Google's apps (calendar, email, etc.). I am using Nine for Exchange email, but have to use the Gmail app for Gmail. That is a minor annoyance. The wifi, bluetooth, LTE (AT&T), etc. all work well and it works fine with the Gear S2, so all is well.

It seems to be a great phone at any price, but particularly so at its price point.

Can I ask you if you are getting push notifications in Gmail when the phone has been idle for at least 30 minutes (and is also not on a charger)? I've been trying to determine how prevalent the issue is with notifications failing when in "doze" mode.

Since I read the thread on this, I have only had one Gmail email come in. I did not get a notification until after I awakened the phone. I tried removing Gmail, Nine and others form being optimized to see if it will help. I understand form the other thread that it does not work. I am interested in seeing if this is an issue, because I rely heavily on getting timely notifications for work. I usually use the phone frequently enough that it may not be an issue during the day. At night would be a different story. I will report back what I find.

Currently it looks like a bug that needs to get worked out. Out of curiosity though. Is you alert slider on all notifications. That could be the issue as well but as far as I know there is a issue that hopefully will get worked out soon.

Well I've been very impressed at the screen - make sure to play with the colour settings when you get it as it sounds like some people have missed this. I hope you end up liking the screen because if it's a fast stock-like experience you're looking for this phone is just awesome.

Apparently, an OTA is coming that will make the memory management less aggressive and adds an sRGB mode.
