One of the thing that annoyed me greatly about the original Moto X was that if you use Google Now launcher, the "Okay Google" within the launcher is disable. The thing is that the Okay Google response much faster than the Touchless Control activation. Glad they finally fixed it.

Um as far as I know, Google Now Launcher was never intergrated before the new X, unless you got some fake or modified phone. And Google Now Launcher never supported the 'Okay Google" outside the Nexus 5..

I am still required to use the Motorola Touchless Control implementation which I'm fine with. The "OK Google Detection" option is grayed out in the Google New settings still.

You misunderstood me but "megatomic" explained it above.

Also Google Now Launcher is publically available in the PlayStore and any phones with Android 4.2 can download it. You can also enable Okay Google Everywhere on those phones which allow you to launch Google search from the lock screen or other places.

Google Now keyword launching was never broken in the original Moto X.
