So what does every think about the Galaxy Pro S coming to Sprint?

I hope the GALAXY S PRO will let me get the bad taste out of my mouth from the EVO and move on from my PRE. I just returned my EVO due to a crashed Sense launcher that made the phone unusable, and a bad headphone jacket that made it think I had headset attached and wanted to voice dial and voice search for no good reason. Thank God Sprint's website let me reactivate my PRE easily.

Also, the EVO screen was not good enough in bright sunlight. I hope the super amoled will have better luck in direct sunlight. Front facing camera and QWERTY keyboard are attractive. Even the EVO screen was a huge 4.3 inches, I could still type faster and more accurately on my PRE keyboard than the virtual keyboard on the EVO.

Is Touchwiz really as bad as they say in post?

There are some CTI videos going over Touchwiz 3 and it doesn't look that bad. I think most people are annoyed when a phone comes with a custom UI. A lot of people complain about Sense on HTC devices but I think it's better than the default UI android ships with.

I'm considering it. I bought an Evo. I'm content with it, but will return it if the reviews on this are positive. Samsung's previous support history does concern me a bit.

Touch Wiz 2.0 and below were HORRIBLE. Many people think that Samsung didnt change anything in 3.0 (current) version. However, they've completely changed the UI from the bottom up. Its very intuitive now.

Have a look at yourself:

YouTube - Samsung TouchWiz 3.0 User Interface (Galaxy S & Wave S8500)

Wow, just watched that for the first time. Coming from a HTC Sense phone there are some feature in Touchwiz 3.0 that just look amazing to me. Especially if it runs as smooth as it is shown.

All I can say is thank god I did not waste my upgrade on the Evo with it's color banding 16bit display. 4.3" screen with a terrible color depth. What were they thinking?

The Samsung has a super clear Active Matrix 16.7 million color display and best of all a keypad. I am so happy :)

Have you actually USED an EVO? Every single person who's looked at mine is blown away by the screen quality. Even on photos and movies. The Samsung screen may be better, and you can say that without name calling. The EVO screen is far from bad. Why don't you just grow up?

Why....why a sliding QWERTY keyboard.....man, a real bummer. That really did it for me.

All other carriers will have the sleeker looking Galaxy S while Sprint with the S Pro get the brick.

The one I played with for a little while just seemed to much like an iphone. That turned me off a little, but the screen is wonderful and I'm sure I will get one when it comes out which probably won't be till September or later. They are just now in the testing phase with the pro. So I will have had my evo for a few months and like I said I will try it out but I don't know if I will keep it. The evo is a keeper though.

I can't remember where I saw it, but there is also rumors of Sprint supposedly carrying the regular Samsung Galaxy S.... Idk how true though but if they do it seems like they are setting themselves up to gain alot of ground on the android circuit, being able to cater to hw kb & virtual kb fans alike.

That would be the smart thing to do but don't think Sprint would pony up the cash to have that perk. Who knows though....;)

Because they have the EVO for the touchscreen crowd. This will give them something to compete with the Droid/Droid 2.

Also, the EVO screen was not good enough in bright sunlight.

This will be worse than the EVO in direct sunlight. AMOLED is useless in direct sunlight. S-AMOLED improves that greatly and is usable in direct sunlight but is not as good as an old fashioned LED TFT screen. The upside is better screen quality inside and lower power use due to no back light being needed.

I can't imagine them not stepping up and making it uber user friendly if they expect to capture 10% of the market by year end...

Any chance the Galaxy S pro is the Samsung Intercept that Sprint is due to launch on 7/11?

It's just I wish I could RIP that integrated GPU in that hummingbird processor...

... and put it on my Evo. There, that's it.
Screen's fine... just wish my Evo had richer colors.

So, being a "Galaxy S phone" does the Epic 4G have the same 8/16GB internal storage?

Saw this on Twitter.

This may pull me away from my Hero... Not crazy about the keyboard... but I can get a case that makes it closed (like on the droid). They're even ballsy enough to have asphalt 5 pre-loaded. Definitely want to try that out first before taking it home.

Thanks Sprint for providing more ammo to negotiate away the EVO fee, since the EVO is no longer the "top of the line 'Premium Data' smartphone".

I wouldn't consider this phone for myself, and I'm happier with the new exchanged EVO as opposed to the one from drop day.

I do not expect Sprint to remove the EVO tax and I do expect that they will tax the Epic as well.
