So when do we get Nougat?

My insider source at AT&T told me the S7 Active will get Android 7.0x on May 17th, but it could be earlier and maybe even delayed until past that date.
Well, that's a far cry better than June/July like we were all thinking. It's pretty slick... so far battery performance seems the same. Don't notice any increase but I've been doing a lot of re-initializing apps, etc. so I haven't had much time yet to pay attention to the nuances of the OS itself. I'm about to do a "Clear Cache" just to get rid of the junk that's probably built up from the last 10 or 11 hours of me playing and adjusting! Never hurts!

O.K., so the battery performance through the night is identical to Marshmallow - 100% down to 96% from 11:00 PM to 8:30 AM - exactly the same! During the day, now that I've gotten over the newness of the OS and it's become routine, I am noticing a bit LESS battery performance however? The only thing I really notice on the "Battery Usage" screen is "Google Services" that I'm not sure why it's using battery when I'm not asking it to. I just "Force Stopped" it to see if it starts itself back up, or if I am missing any functions, or if the battery life improves. I never noticed that in Marshmallow so that could be it... but then again, maybe Nougat needs it for something, who knows. I will keep everyone updated! That's it for now... everything else is extraordinarily SMOOTH!

Missed all these updates to my topic. My battery life fluctuates. For a week or two, it'll be great. Then it'll just seem to go off a cliff for a while. The last couple of days, I've had to put it on the charger in the afternoon for fear of the phone dying before I can make it home. Nothing is really standing out on the usage monitor screen. Android OS and Android system are my biggest power users at 21% and 18%. The screen at 15%, Google services at 11% and Facebook at 5%. It's 11:30 and the phone is at 65%. I took it off the charger at 5 am. Spent about 30 mins on FB and have sporadically looked at a few notifications since then.

I'm used to it, though. I work in a rural area with sub-optimal cell coverage but we have a booster installed in the building so my signal isn't usually terrible.

FWIW, software update says I have something ready to download right now. Another monthly security patch?

That's a problem with updating to Nougat - when the AT&T Server looks at my phone, it can't figure out why I am running that and just says "Current Software is up to date". I probably won't get any more Security Updates or Patches until Nougat is actually released. Then my phone will look like all the others and it'll Sync back up. My Nougat Copy is an actual AT&T Version, just procured through questionable means, I guess!
