So Which Keyboard You Rocking?

ICS keyboard no doubt. I used to love swype, but with the bigger screen size ICS keyboard is dead on. :)

FlexT9 by Nuance. A better Swype than Swype.

I love T9 but there's some bug with it and the GMail To: field. Drives.me.nuts.

Thank gawd Swype for ICS came out. I am a big fan of Swype on all my devices - CM7.1 on Nook, Honeycomb on my Transformer TF101 and now on my Nexus.

I complained to the T9 developers about my issues and their reply was simply, "Not compatible with ICS." Sigh.

I realize that Swiftkey X is faster, but I prefer Swype because I like to text one-handed in portrait, but whenever I go landscape, I prefer SwiftkeyX.

I've tested many keyboards, always looking for the fastest/most accurate input system. I usually use them 3-4wks straight before making a verdict.

What I found is FlexT9 is the best all around. It works just as good on a tablet as on a 4" phone. It has the best text prediction and is the fastest. The swype was even better than Swype, granted I have not tried the newest swype.

I do like using a keyboard and find that I sometimes switch to Swiftkey on my tablet. On my phone I use the Stock ICS keyboard.

(Note I've tested Swiftkey, Swype, Android Gingerbread, ICS, SlideIT, FlexT9, 8pen, Thumb Keyboard, AI.)

I really like AI but it's predictive text is not as good as FlexT9 or Swiftkey.

Swype. The Beta is way better than any of the pre-installs I've gotten to handle. One of the perks of owning a Nexus device, I suppose.

SwiftKey X. Swype is a neat idea and I know it works great for a lot of people, but having to correct so many words makes it relatively slow for me. SwiftKey's prediction and autocorrect are amazing.

Stock ICS. I own Swiftkey X and have had Swype on my past two phones, but honestly, the stock ICS keyboard is pretty darn good. I even installed it on my tablet.

I personally was using Smart Keyboard Pro on the D1 before the Nexus. It allows you to change the height of the keyboard so the keys are bigger. But on the nexus, between the bigger screen and the stock keyboard being so slick i have not really seen the need to switch.... Yet.

QUESTION TO SWYPE USERS: Do you guys primarily use this keyboard like a normal keyboard or do you just swype when you type on it?? Always wondered how the swype keyboard performed when used normally?

Thanks.

I want the ability to resize the width of the keyboard and shift it to the left in portrait mode or in landscape have it on the right side. I too am a one handed typer lol

I think smart keyboard has a width adjustment as well as height but i could be wrong. Never needed to mess with the width and have not used it in a couple months.

My ability to crank emails and texts quickly is greatly enhanced due to actually Swyping words. When typing words that are not in the Swype dictionary, normal use of the keyboard is also solid. Major punctuation shortcuts are all on the main screen (press and hold).

Needing to go to an alternate keyboard page for some major punctuation marks was frustrating on the stock keyboard.

This beta version of Swype also seems more responsive than the GB version from my DroidX.

I have this same issue with the stock keyboard. Really wish they would put major punctuation on long press somewhere. My last keyboard had this as well.

Long press period. That gets you alot of punctuation. Not all of it, admittedly, but most of what you need.

Ok, what am I missing? I've been using swype on my og driod and loved it. I've been looking for it in the app market. Where can I get it for my stock gnex?
