So who decided to stay with the Z3v?

I'm thinking of turning in my turbo for a z3v. Just too many issues.

Mine gets too hot sometimes, in the 100-110 range. I average about 4 hours of screen on time, when I got 6-7 on my maxx HD.

Just disappointed with it overall. It's fast as heck, but I don't understand the issues I'm having with it.

That's disappointing about the Turbo. It is a beast of a phone, although it appears that it has yet to be fully tamed. Before I got my Z3v I was planning on getting the Turbo myself. Long story short I ended up with the Z3v and I have zero regrets. One thing I have been so pleasantly suprised by with the Z3v is the awesome battery life I've been getting. Depending on your usage type, you'll easily get 6 or 7 hours of screen time. I'm actually averaging 8.5 and more consistently - sometimes much more. The other thing I am so pleasantly surprised by is how glitch free and smooth everything runs. Another thing is the radio reception is so much more stable and reliable than my previous Samsung's. In my parking garage I've never had a phone that didn't drop a call until I used the Z3v. Camera is great too.

The Turbo is a great phone. So is the Z3v. With the Turbo, you could wait for updates to address issues. Seems like it was released a little too early before things had been worked out - at least that's the way it seems reading user reviews and posts.

I guess I'm just rambling on here... LOL.

I'd say unless there's a hugely important feature that you need which the Turbo has and the Z3v doesn't, you won't regret getting the Z3v.

In all fairness, there is a very limited selection of cases available for the Z3v, so if you're picky about cases, it may frustrate you. I don't even use a case, and despite the Z3v having a glass back, it really is built very solidly. Many people also complain about the form factor on the Z3v, and that's totally subjective. I happen to like the slab factor a lot and it stands out among the rest of the phones out there in my opinion. Looks more classy and professional and less of a toy or tool. The Turbo will probably conform better to your hand, but I personally don't have a problem handling the Z3v at all with no case and smaller hands.

Let us know what you decide!

After reading about and wanting an xperia for a long time I decided to try the z3v, I figured I would actually end up with the turbo BUT I cant do it.
I have searched extensively for a reason to return the z3v for the beast turbo and after finding out you need to live with the phones handicaps (low call volume, low screen brightness, wifi problems, rebooting & black screen, less than 48 hr battery & if you put your finger across the top of the phone the signal drops out as per moble tech review video comparing turbo to n4,phone heating up when charging) hoping for a fix thats crazy. To say the phone was released pre maturely is an understatement.
I really like the turbo for the specks, vanilla android, build so no case is necessary, command center etc, its the cool hyped better supported phone BUT is it all worth it when the phone as a whole doesnt function well?
The z3v may be the less hyped phone but everything works and works well + sony has committed to update the z line to lolipop so unless they find a fix for ALL the turbo problems before my 14 days run out I'll stick withe the z3v and though its not the coolest phone I will be ok with my choice.

As for a case I got the case clip combo from verizon and like it not the best protection but better than nothing for now :)

In the past month or so I have had the following phones: G3, iPhone 6, Note 4, Turbo and now the Z3v. Did not like the iPhone. Did not like the Note due to touch wiz and the size got me. Now to compare the Z3v to the turbo here we go.

Please keep in mind I have only have this phone for a few hours.
Camera seems to be much much better. Photos are faster, clearer and a overall joy to take.

For factor is better in my opinion as well as build quality.

The screen feels nicer to type on. My opinion.

So far I have only had the phone a few hours. But I really enjoy it so far. I am looking forward to see how the battery life holds up. Battery like on the turbo was no where near the 48 hour claims for me with my usage. I was getting 4-5 hours of screen time with the turbo. Let's see how the z goes.

In the end hello all. I hope to really enjoy this device.

Let us know how your battery performs. I've had outstanding battery life, averaging between 8.5 to 9.5 hours screen time for the entire month I've had it.

I had the Turbo, but mine had battery issues where it would drain very quickly even in safe mode. The Verizon tech couldn't believe it.

I exchanged it for the Note 4 figuring it was slam dunk on battery and camera. Too bad touch wiz kills the performance.

I exchanged the Note 4 for the Z3V and have been extremely impressed. It looks much nicer in person, performance is very zippy, battery is fantastic and the camera is quite nice too.

I love what Sony has put out with their Z series Android devices. So impressed that I picked up a Z Ultra to use as a mini tablet and a Z2 tablet.

I had the Turbo and was extremely disappointed in the camera. It was much too fickle with movement and light. I am a stickler for a good camera on my device so I returned the Turbo for the Z3v. And I made the right choice. I don't mind the large phone. I am happy with the battery life and the camera.

A friend of mine wanted to try the Z3V and I wanted to try his LG G3, needless to say I wantd my Sony Z3V back.

Nuff said.

Now that I have a cheap TPU case I like and wireless chargers, I love this phone. I don't have to mess with the charger door, so it stays waterproof. The size is a good compromise, smaller (in a good way) than a true phablet.

I feel like my three wireless chargers are overkill, as the battery easily lasts all day for me without topping off. But then, I stress when my battery level drops below 70%.

Unfortunately Verizon didn't give a very big advertise for z3v and a lot of apps didn't have that.

I've had my Z3v since December 4th and love it. Left Motorola flagship phones after 3 years with them. I briefly had the Nylon Droid Turbo but I couldn't stand the Nylon and it got hot real fast under heavy usage. The camera on the Turbo was so-so... I already owned (and still use) the Xperia Z for T-Mobile and loved it so I figured the Z3v would be a runaway hit and I was right.

The only thing I regret is switching to Verizon.

Agreed! I've never owned a Sony phone, was blown away by it! I almost got the LG G3, but loved the Sony screen and colors much better. The day I got it, it was raining (in Southern California) and I thought, why not go waterproof?! I'm really impressed with Sony and I'm sad to hear the problems they're having in the mobile world. Very underestimated phone!

I am loving my z3v. Been wanting a sony for years since the z1. The last sony I had was the Orange and Black 580? Loved that little phone.
Me too! I loved my Black and Orange 580. Just a fun phone at a really transitional period in cell phone history. The Sony z3v is ALL class. I actually am using the Z2 flip case on my Z3v. I had to trim the top two gripper slots on the case but you cant tell that i did. Fits excellent. Dimensions are VERY close between the two phones. People ask me alot what phone i have all the time. I feel special. Lol
