so, who's jumping ship to the S22 Ultra?

Personally, I'm not. If you have an S21 ultra, it looks like it's almost the same device... I'm a bit underwhelmed.

I'm still wavering. Ordering through the app, the upgrade would cost just under $450, and would come with $300 of Samsung accessory credit. So, maybe.

Honestly, I'd be tempted at that .

In the UK they're offering £570 for my 256GB S21 Ultra, so the 256GB S22 Ultra would be £680, and we get galaxy buds Pro, which I have from last year.

Not exactly an enticing offer.

Definitely making the upgrade. The internal S-Pen sealed the deal for me. The only reason I use a case on my S21 Ultra is to have a place for my S-pen. The free upgrade to 512GB is also huge.

Here, in the U.K.

Have pre-ordered, for delivery Friday, 25th February...

  • Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra
  • Exynos 2200
  • Black
  • 12GB RAM
  • 1TB storage
  • Free Galaxy Buds Pro
Total £1,499/US$2,030
Less trade-in on S21 Ultra 512GB -£580/-US$785
Total to pay = £919/US$1,245

Also ordered a Samsung S22 Ultra Protective Standing Cover, Black, for £14/US$19

Not me. My 21 Ultra works just fine and have no reason to upgrade. Maybe when 23 Ultra comes out then I'll considered, or wait for 24 Ultra. I can make my phones last.

I generally upgrade every year but I'm still on the fence here. I really don't care about the S Pen. I doubt I will ever use it. I am intrigued by the camera night mode but I don't know if it really makes sense for me to keep upgrading every year. My S21U is still in perfect condition and works fantastically.

I want to grab the 22U but I just don't know that it makes sense.

The last 2 years I have switched phones 3 times. I'm not selling my S21 Ultra as it is more phone than I'll ever need. I have no need for an s-pen on a phone. However I'm looking to buy a Tab S7 on Swappa in the next month or so. I'm delaying my gratification and holding off to see if I still want or need one by then.

Purchased an unlocked S22 Ultra earlier this evening. Trading in my S21 Ultra.

Jumping ship, the trade in offer including the massive discount on a Tab S8 Ultra ($475 off + free $350 keyboard/cover) came out to $1700 in savings if I had went and bought everything separately and I wanted a Tab S8 Ultra anyway because the Tab S6 60Hz screen is miserable to look at being used to 120Hz and beyond screens (my PC is 144Hz) lol. So what I'm paying with my trade in it's nearly like getting one of the devices for free. So say if I was keeping my S21U and I went out and bought a Tab S8 Ultra + keyboard that would come out to $1,449.98 and with my trade in I'm paying only $1314.24 for that plus a S22 Ultra so since I wanted a Tab S8 anyway it was a no brainer to get a new phone with the trade in program (I'll be honest, I was probably going to get the new phone anyway since I'm a major camera/tech nut and almost planned on keeping my S21U as a backup).

So I paid...
$599.99 for a S22 Ultra 512GB from the normal $1399.99
$624.99 for a Tab S8 Ultra from the normal $1099.99
plus the free $350 keyboard on top of that...just couldn't turn that down lol.

I got an s21 ultra back on release day. I really liked it. But it just felt a bit top heavy and had no S pen slot. Samsung took away the camera housing and added S pen slot. So I went with the s22 ultra this time around.

99.9% likely that I don't jump. I can do it, but I can't justify it to myself. My S21U is a monster of a phone. Plus, I'd like to see if I can make it all the way to Android 15. ??????

Jumping ship. Got a good deal on a trade in for my phone and the 8+ tablet with keyboard case from the 7+.

I do have to say it's tempting to get the S22 ultra after adding it and the Tab S8 to my cart and seeing how much it would be per month. It's only $2 more than what I'm paying now for my S21 Ultra. $41/month vs $43 for a phone and a tablet. Very tempting indeed.

I might get the S22+ as I really want the flat screen. I personally don't like the looks of S22 ultra. I just have to sell my S21 Ultra on Swappa and then pay it off. Or pay it off first then sell it. If they die have those crazy deals with all the rebates and the fact I can get a new Tablet and a phone for the same price that's I'm paying for my S21 Ultra is nuts.

Yea, exactly. It's a no-brainer when you add in the new Tablet, you'll regret not jumping on the deal if you don't do it. I really wanted a new Tablet too because I basically stopped using my Tab S6 because the slow and laggy 60Hz screen was driving me nuts to use after being used to a 120Hz phone so a 120hz Tablet will hopefully bring my Tablet up to snuff with my phone I hope lol (the Tab S6 just seemed really laggy and miserable to use compared to my S21U). I'm a total camera nut so any hint of the camera on the flagship phones being better is nearly enough to seal the deal for me. I was about to skip this release, but the deal with the Tablet I couldn't turn down. It's like I'm basically buying a Tab S8 Ultra outright and getting a free S22Ultra thrown in (plus the free $350 keyboard) lol.

Just have to break the news to my wife that I'm getting a different phone after only having this one for 10 months.
