So why didn't you chose the s4?

And go with the htc one?

  • Didn't like the screen as much - not bright enough outdoors, too saturated
  • Not a fan of the plastic back cover - seems like a finger print magnet
  • Didn't like the stock apps such as calendar, dialer and mail as much (heavy business user)
  • Don't like TouchWiz as a whole -- too heavy and overdone
  • Feature bloat -- I'd wind up disabling 50-75% of it wishing I could remove it altogether

Overall, I just like the One better. Build materials + LCD 3 display + front speakers + Sense 5 = winner (for me). That said, I think the S4 is a great phone and if it weren't for the One, I'd have an S4 right now.

I have owned a few HTCs in the past, and I like my phones to have a sturdy feel. The Mogul (Sprint) was plasticy feeling but still a beefy phone. The Thunderbolt just felt sturdy, and the One is..well..its the ONE. I also dont like Touchwiz at all (Sense I can do,, Wiz I just cant). Sure I can install a third party launcher, but I just like Sense overall.

Plus all the preliminary reviews said its not much of an upgrade over the S3, which I didnt care to much for.

What's the point of threads like this? You own a s4 and by looking at the threads you've started you offer no real input into anything other than doing opinion polls

Don't comment then. You also didn't offer any real input...

I have both here, but will use the One because it has features I like better.

Have to say that the S4 has a lot going for it. That said the One just seems better all around. With having this lousy back speaker on my Gnex. I'll gladly step up to the One and those beautiful LOUD speakers.

BTW if I wanted lag I'd just keep this thing I'm on.

I picked the HTC because I knew I would use the speakers,Zoe and low light camera more than the features on the S4. Plus it looks like they really took their time trying to design the phone. And before anyone flames me I am NOT saying any other phone is not well made. I did not hold or look at any other phone. I just thought the One was carefully crafted

Bright LCD, loud and clear speakers, low light camera performance, 32GB available and much more.

the same reason I buy top of the line Callaway golf clubs, they don't make me a better golfer, but I look good doing it! HTC imho builds a phone the way I would! sense is more adult than touchwiz! the speakers have changed my life! fm radio, blinkfeed has changed the way I use my phone for the better, everything I care about is right there! the screen is the best available! and just to be honest, I wouldn't own a Samsung anything!

using my HTC ONE on ANDROID CENTRAL'S app

I might later on, for now my note 2 is great, =)

I like it better? Do you need a better reason?

Oh yeah, it was less expensive as well.

But mostly I wasn't going to buy a phone I'd watch video on, albeit mostly YouTube, that couldn't produce white.

First off, I know it's android and HTC, I owned the EVO 3D and after reading the reviews I believed it really couldn't disappoint me as a mobile device / tool. The internals were top end. They both do email. They both do chat. They both have browsers. The 2 things that were really important to me, after the EVO3D BS Camera, was a decent camera and a larger screen. When I found out that the HTC had a great audio system, well that just drove me closer to deciding on the One.

I knew I didn't like the feel of the GSIII because my brother has it, so that was a minus for it right there. Plastic and too light.

So, onto why the One over the S4

1) The Look and Feel.
2) The Audio System
3) The Look and Feel
4) Low Light Camera
5) The Look and Feel

This phone just feels great, looks professional and does everything I need. Plus it has an outstanding screen, above the competition audio, a camera that fits my needs and it's the underdog.

Go HTC One!!!
