I signed up for the soak on Sunday and I got an email today that they'll be pushing it out shortly (but it may take several hours for all targeted devices to receive the update).

I'll post here once I receive the update.

The likelihood is that this particular update won't work on 901. The updates tend to truly be UPDATES in that they patch existing files. That's why they break if the "bloatware" is messed with. So this particular update is expecting 893. Now, my question is, those that had 901 legitimately pushed to them.....are they going to get an update to 902 now? And if so, I hope to God one of them remembers to capture it for the rest of the people that are um, "unofficially" on 901. :) Otherwise we'll be going back to 893 which is NOT a super fun process.

Screw Moto and VZW. If they can't push 902 to my 901 equipped handset, no big loss. I'm finally stable and I'm OK where I am.

Too little, too damn late IMO.

Do you have some issues? :D LOL! I personally like 901, as well, but, if 902 is going to be an official build then we might as well get to it. As soon as I see it posted somewhere I'll grab it. I don't enjoy the thought of having to go back to 893 in order to install it, but, hey, such is life.

I used the 893 full FXZ, dropped in the cdt.bin from 901, took out the erase user data partition line from the xml, and went back to 893 with full data. :D Then I re-rooted, dropped the 902 update (found on xda forum if you want it) on my sd card, and went to town. Now fully updated with forever root still in tact. :)

I would hold off a bit. Cellzealot and P3Droid were just updating the pathsaver script to handle 902. Personally I recommend the FXZ/RSD Lite method of going back. That's what I did (with 2 modifications to the 893 full FXZ package...one to drop in the 901 cdt.bin and the other to the XML file to remove the erase user data partition entry so I could keep my data during the downgrade/upgrade process). It takes a while, but, it's darn near foolproof.

When i go back to .893, am I at ground zero and have to re-download all my apps?

not if you back them up, I use titanuim backup and make a fresh backup before reverting. Doing an FXZ will put you back at .886. From there I accepted the .893 OTA update, if you were on .901 you will probably get a cdt.bin error and here is the fix for that [FIX] Bionic (Boot Failure) & (CDT Failure) - RootzWiki. Then used this to root/forever root Root OTA 5.5.893 aka ROTA893 - RootzWiki and your golden ready for the .902 update.
