I have a Sprint based Galaxy S7

After downloading and allowing the recent Nougat upgrade to install my phone now flashes the phrase "Software Exception" in the middle of the screen.

The folks at SPRINT tech support tell me this is an so far unreported issue and want me to backpack my phone, re-initialize it, then restore.

I thought I would look here for some simpler solution first.

Yes, I rebooted the phone
Yes, I powered it off
Yes, I did an Update Profile and Update PRL

No differences

I found a few articles buried in the XDA forums, and all seemed to have the same solution.
Factory reset.

I haven't been able to find the cause, so I guess that means you're just one of the lucky ones.

It doesn't appear to be a widespread issue, but is an issue none the less.

Thanks for trying

A member of another Forum gave me a GREAT suggestion

He said to go into Notifications and turn each one orf individually until the message stopped appearing on the screen.

Then just uninstall and reinstall the offending APP.

It worked like a Charm. Fixed the issue in under 30 minutes without losing any data. :)

It is a SHAME the SPRINT folks are not that clever.

Hi Olympus I have the same problem im going to turn off the notifications sorry for ignorance what is offending APP and where I can find it?
