Software update info page is up... OTA right around the corner?

Firstly, HTC and VZW ........

One other thing: You said you were noticing the battery draining when using the hotspot and plugged into your computer. Let me clarify something: Do NOT charge your phone with you computer while using heavy applications. Plugging the device into your computer is meant for transferring files and tethered internet usage (not the same as a hotspot). If you use the hotspot, plug it into a wall. The majority of car chargers and the entirety of computer USB ports do not put out enough power to charge the battery while using features like Mobile Hot Spot or Navigation. Same thing happened with my Galaxy S (which had NO battery issues like the Thunderbolt).

I used the free hotspot one day, just to see how it is, unfortunately that was the last day I used it as well. I had it plugged into the wall and maybe about 40mins to a hr of use my phone was showing up with Warning: overheat. Not sure why that would do that but it did.

I don't know but I'm waiting anxiously for it. I'm very tired of these radio issues and i figured instead of updating the rom manually i'll use the official since it was supposed to be released today.

Today ends one second before midnight so we need to be patient if the rumor about the release was true.

I'm excited for my first Android update! Curious to see how it installs. Hope my phone doesn't brick or wipe.

Factors that can cause overheating: Shell cases, air circulation around the device, stage 1 power input, internal hardware, ambient temperature.

So lets look at a few factors... When you plug your standard phone with its standard charger and completely empty lithium-ion battery into a wall charger, it begins a two stage charging. For the first 70-80% of charging, the wall outlet is putting out a high charge. This does the majority of the charging faster, but generates a lot of heat. The second stage of charging is trickle-charging the last 20-30%. Each of these stages take about half of the beginning-to-end charge cycle.

With that said, was your TBolt below 80% battery BEFORE you plugged it into the wall? Did you have a silicone or plastic shell case on it? What surfaces was the TBolt on when the hotspot was active? Did you prop it up portrait-style on its kickstand to improve the airflow around the device itself?

If you had full battery before you plugged it in, use no shell case, the device was on a cool hard surface, and was propped on its kickstand, then you should likely call up VZW Tech Support due to overheating. It is likely a hardware/wiring problem, and needs to be fixed.

I'm loving 1.6! Quick question

How/will you incorporate this update into das BAMF?

Sent from my ADR6400L

Its already in it. Bamf was the first rom to be based on the new updated, released within minutes of the original leak.

(Yeah I had my own leak a week and a half prior to the leak xda saw).
